(FEB NEWS) Songkhla, Thailand (November 3–7, 2025) – Proud news has come again from Universitas Airlangga. A delegate from the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Universitas Airlangga, Abu Shidqi Alhafiz (Islamic Economics Study Program, class of 2023), successfully brought honor to his alma mater by winning three prestigious awards at the 4th AUN ASEAN Experiential Learning Programme (AELP) 2025, which carried the theme “Singora to Songkhla: Exploring the Past and Future.”
This annual program, organized by the ASEAN University Network (AUN) and officially held by Prince of Songkla University (PSU), Thailand, presents experiential learning activities packaged in the form of lectures, field visits, cultural workshops, and group presentations.
In this prestigious event, the Universitas Airlangga delegation consisted of four students: Abu Shidqi Alhafiz (Islamic Economics 2023), Cinta Tri Cahyani Heksa, Najwa Aurora Sanfika, and Muhammad Ryan Zulfik. The four were divided into groups, with Abu Shidqi and Cinta in Group 1, while Najwa and Ryan were in Group 3.
Group 1 achieved a remarkable achievement, winning three awards at once: Best Presenter Award, Best Quiz Kahoot Award, and Best "Old Town Shutter" Award. It was in this group that two UNAIR delegates, Abu Shidqi and Cinta, contributed significantly to their paper, "Harmony in Diversity: Social Cohesion in Songkhla's Multicultural Society."
The work analyzes the dynamics of social cohesion in Songkhla's multicultural society through a social approach based on field observations and interviews. This achievement demonstrates the research excellence, international collaboration, and communication skills of UNAIR students.
During the program, the UNAIR delegates received direct guidance from Ms. Indah Tri Imayati, S.Hum., who supported the learning process and field activities. The final assessment was conducted by professors and an academic panel from Prince of Songkla University (PSU), as well as representatives from the AUN Secretariat and evaluators from the ASEAN Student Affairs Network (AUN-SAN).
The five-day event, held from November 3 to 7, 2025, in Songkhla, Thailand, provided a rich and immersive learning experience. Participants from ten ASEAN countries—including Malaysia, Thailand, Brunei, Singapore, Vietnam, Myanmar, the Philippines, and Indonesia—engaged in various educational activities, including lectures on the history of Singora–Songkhla, explorations of cultural heritage sites, community workshops in Singhanakhon District, and the Loy Krathong cultural festival.
In addition to the Prince of Songkla University (PSU) campus, activities were also held at several historic and iconic locations, such as Songkhla Old Town & Street Art Area, Sultanate of Singora Heritage Site, Songkhla Lake Basin, Suan Thep-haya Learning Center, and BP Samila Beach Hotel as the official accommodation for participants.
Through hands-on, experiential learning, AELP 2025 not only enriched participants' academic knowledge but also strengthened the values of diversity, collaboration, and shared identity as ASEAN citizens. The achievements of the FEB UNAIR delegation in this event are clear evidence of the quality of UNAIR students who are able to compete internationally—with character, a global perspective, and bringing the spirit of Excellence with Morality to the world stage.
