


(Feb News) Malang, July 5, 2025 - Proud achievements were re -inscribed by Universitas Airlangga students in the provincial sports event. Nur Aliffia Oktaviana Firdaus, a student of the 2023 Economic Study Program at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga (FEB Unair), won 1st place in the category of Pencak Silat Sports Sports Branch at the East Java Provincial Sports Week (Porprov) IX 2025.

This prestigious competition was held by the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) of East Java and took place on June 28 to July 5, 2025 at the Sport Center of UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim, Malang City. A total of 515 athletes from 36 districts/cities took part in the martial arts sport, which are divided into two main categories: match and art. The jury that judged was brought directly from the Indonesian Pencak Silat Association (IPSI) of East Java , guaranteeing the quality of matches that were fair and professional.

Nur Aliffia competed as part of the Surabaya City IPSI women's team team. Together with his team, he made it through four stages of the match-starting from the preliminary round, quarter-finals, semifinals, to the final round-through the head-to-head match system. The consistency, hard work, and team cohesiveness also bear sweet fruit with the achievement of the gold medal on the highest podium.
"Alhamdulillah, we can bring home a gold medal. This is the fruit of our intensive training, discipline, and cohesiveness as a team. Hopefully this achievement can inspire other women to continue to excel, both in the academic and non-academic fields," Nur Aliffia said. This achievement also reflects the commitment to sustainable development through the active participation of the younger generation in healthy sports activities and forming character. More than that, the success of female students in this kind of competitive event strengthens the spirit of equality and empowerment, and proves that achievement can be achieved without gender restrictions
