
(FEB UNAIR NEWS) Thursday, April 17, 2025 — Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Airlangga (FEB UNAIR) received a benchmarking visit from the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of North Sumatra (FEB USU) on Thursday, April 17, 2025. This activity took place in the ABC Rapim Room, 1st Floor, FEB UNAIR and focused on strategic discussions regarding the establishment of the Islamic Economics Study Program (Ekis) within the FEB USU environment.
The delegation from the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) of the University of North Sumatra (USU) was led by Inggrita Gusti Sari Nasution, SE, M.Si., Head of the Undergraduate Program in Development Economics. The main purpose of the visit was to conduct a comparative study and gain firsthand insight into FEB UNAIR's experience in establishing and developing the Islamic Economics Study Program.
The FEB UNAIR team that received the visit consisted of the leadership and lecturers of the Department of Sharia Economics, including:

• Sulistya Rusgianto, SE, MIF., Ph.D. – Secretary of the Department of Sharia Economics FEB UNAIR
• Puji Sucia Sukmaningrum, SE, CiFP. – Lecturer of the Department of Sharia Economics FEB UNAIR
• Ahmad Fadlur Rahman Bayuny, SEI, M.Sc. IBF. – Lecturer of the Department of Sharia Economics FEB UNAIR
The discussion was lively and productive, focusing primarily on graduate profile development, curriculum development, and the challenges and strategies involved in establishing the Islamic Economics Study Program. Lecturers from FEB UNAIR shared their experiences and implemented approaches, including integrating sharia values into the curriculum and strengthening graduate competencies relevant to the needs of the halal industry and the global Islamic economics.
This activity is expected to be a constructive first step in building synergy between the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) UNAIR and the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) USU, particularly in the development of higher education in Islamic economics. As an institution that has previously implemented this study program, FEB UNAIR is committed to continuously sharing best practices and encouraging improvements in the quality of Islamic economics education in Indonesia.
