FEB UNAIR UNICEF Roundtable Discussion(Feb News) Wednesday, July 31, 2024-Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga (FEB Unair) proudly hosted the Roundtable Discussion event titled "The Role of Innovative Financing for Fulfillment of Children's Rights in East Java". The event was attended by various parties including representatives from UNICEF Indonesia: (Deputy Representative of UNICEF Indonesia - Mr. Jean Lokenga; ⁠ Head of Social Policy Unicef ​​Indonesia - Ms. Yoshimi Nishino; ⁠CHIF Field Office Unicef ​​Indonesia academics, practitioners, and local government officials.

The event opened with remarks from the Dean of FEB UNAIR, Prof. Dr. Dian Agustia, SE., MSi., Ak., CMA., CA. In his speech, he expressed his appreciation to UNICEF Indonesia for the trust given to FEB UNAIR as the host of this important event.

He also stressed the importance of this discussion in the context of fulfilling children's rights and the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). "Children are our future, and it is our shared responsibility to ensure that their rights are fulfilled. This is in line with our global commitment to the achievement of SDGs," he added.

This discussion aims to understand financing needs in various sectors related to children from the perspective of academics, the financial sector and local government. Apart from that, this event also discussed several strategic issues listed in the 2025-2045 Regional Long Term Development Plan (RPJPD), such as strengthening the local economy, improving sustainable infrastructure, and meeting basic and social needs.

"The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga has a strategic role in this discussion. We are ready to provide a comprehensive perspective from various fields such as public finance, microeconomics, sharia finance, and capital markets and investment potential. We hope, through this discussion, we can find concrete solutions and establish strong collaboration to meet the rights of children in East Java," said Prof. Dian Agustia.

It is hoped that this discussion will produce constructive recommendations and establish strong collaboration between educational institutions, the financial sector, UNICEF and local governments to fulfill children's rights in East Java.
