(FEB NEWS) Surabaya, Saturday, September 13, 2025 – The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Canteen Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) successfully obtained the Halal, Safe, and Healthy Culinary Zone (KHAS) Certificate at the 2025 Sharia Economic Festival (FESyar), held at the Al Akbar Mosque in Surabaya, September 12-14, 2025. The certificate was presented directly by the Governor of East Java, Khofifah Indar Parawansa, and received by Dr. Abdul Raheem, Director of the UNAIR Halal Center.
In this moment, UNAIR obtained two certificates at once, namely for the FEB UNAIR Campus B Canteen and the GOR Campus C Canteen. This achievement emphasizes UNAIR's commitment to providing culinary services that are not only halal, but also safe and healthy for the academic community.
The KHAS certification program is part of a series of activities for the 2025 Javanese Sharia Economic Festival held in collaboration with Bank Indonesia and various stakeholders as a form of Bank Indonesia's support for Indonesia's vision as a center for global sharia economic and financial development.
By achieving KHAS certification, UNAIR, and specifically the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) UNAIR, has demonstrated concrete steps in supporting the sharia-compliant economic and culinary ecosystem in Java and providing halal-friendly facilities for the campus and the public. Through this achievement, UNAIR, particularly FEB UNAIR, affirms its commitment to providing halal-friendly culinary facilities that benefit both the academic community and the wider community.
Going forward, FEB UNAIR is committed to continuing to support programs to strengthen the halal ecosystem and provide services that align with the principles of sustainability, quality, and integrity.
