(FEB NEWS) Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Airlangga (FEB UNAIR), today (5/2/2025) attended an invitation to socialize the UNAIR Rector Election for the 2025-2030 period. This event is part of a series of socializations conducted by the Rector Candidate Selection Committee (PSCR) chaired by Prof. Dr. Suryanto, M.Si., Psychologist – as Chair of PSCR and accompanied by Prof. Dr. M. Hadi Shubhan, SH, MH, CN – as Deputy Chair of PCSR and staff, to provide understanding to faculty leaders and work units within UNAIR regarding the stages of transparent and accountable rector election.
This event is part of a series of socializations scheduled by the Chancellor Candidate Selection Committee (PSCR) to provide explanations to faculty leaders, the Faculty Advisory Board (BPF), and work units within Universitas Airlangga.
Present as a speaker at the socialization event was Prof. Dr. Dian Agustia, SE., MSi., Ak., CMA., CA. – Dean of FEB UNAIR as well as Coordinator for the registration of UNAIR Rector candidates for the 2025-2030 period where Prof. Dian explained the stages of the rector election which include the selection, screening, and election of rector candidates by the University Academic Senate and the Board of Trustees (MWA). This process aims to select a rector who has the vision, competence, and integrity in leading UNAIR towards academic progress, research, and contribution to society and the nation.
The stages of the rector election begin with the formation of the Rector Candidate Selection Committee on January 17, 2025, followed by the socialization of the election procedures on February 3-6, 2025. Registration of rector candidates and medical tests are scheduled for February 10-21, 2025, with verification of rector candidates taking place on February 24-28, 2025. The announcement of the results of the rector candidate selection will be made on March 3-5, 2025.
Following this, a campus community assessment will be held from March 10–21, 2025, during which faculty, students, administrative staff, and alumni can provide input on the rector candidates. The fit and proper assessment is scheduled for April 14–17, 2025, with the results announced and delivered on April 21–23, 2025. The rector will be selected by the Board of Trustees (MWA) in May 2025, and the inauguration of the elected rector will take place on June 17, 2025.
