(FEB NEWS) Surabaya, Wednesday, October 15, 2025 — The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga (FEB UNAIR) officially established a collaboration with the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Treasury (Kanwil DJPb) of East Java Province through the signing of a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) regarding student internship programs and academic collaboration.
The signing was carried out by Prof. Dr. Rudi Purwono, SE, M.Se., as Dean of FEB UNAIR, and Saiful Islam, SE, MBA, Ph.D., as Head of the East Java Provincial DJPb Regional Office, at the Fadjar Notonagoro Hall of FEB UNAIR. This event was also attended by faculty leaders, officials of the East Java DJPb Regional Office, lecturers, and students.
In his remarks, Prof. Rudi expressed his appreciation for the strategic partnership. He emphasized that this collaboration is a concrete step in strengthening the implementation of the Independent Learning and Independent Campus (MBKM) program and opening up opportunities for joint research in the fiscal and public policy fields.
"Through this partnership, FEB UNAIR students will gain hands-on experience in state financial management institutions, further honing their academic and professional competencies," said Prof. Rudi.
As part of the series of activities, Saiful Islam, SE, MBA, Ph.D. also delivered a guest lecture on "The Role of Government Fiscal Policy in the Economy and Public Welfare of East Java." In his presentation, he explained that fiscal policy plays a crucial role in maintaining economic stability, reducing poverty, and ensuring equitable development across regions.
Saiful Islam also emphasized the importance of transparency and synergy between the government, private sector, and academics in creating sustainable fiscal governance.
The event closed with a group photo session and the hope that this collaboration will become a strong foundation for ongoing collaboration between FEB UNAIR and the East Java Regional Office of the Directorate General of Taxes in education, research, and community service.
