FEB UNAIR MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT STRENGTHENS GLOBAL PARTNERSHIP THROUGH A STRATEGIC VISIT TO UITM MALAYSIA

(FEB NEWS) Surabaya, Monday, November 24, 2025 – The Department of Management, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga received a visit from APL Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nurazilah binti Zainal from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Malaysia in the context of implementing a staff mobility program through the Adjunct Professor scheme. This activity is part of the efforts to strengthen the international network of the Department of Management and the realization of reciprocal academic collaboration with strategic partners abroad.

The visit by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nurazilah binti Zainal included two main agendas: teaching activities within the Department of Management and a strategic meeting with the leadership and lecturers of the Financial Management concentration. During the teaching session, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nurazilah binti Zainal shared materials related to financial statement analysis and corporate budgeting, while also introducing managerial practices applied in the Malaysian industry.

The agenda continued with a strategic meeting led by the Head of UNAIR Management Department, Dr. Yetty Dwi Lestari. This activity was also attended by the Vice Dean III, Novrys Suhardianto, Ph.D, as well as other lecturers of the Management Department, including Rahmat Heru Setianto, Ph.D, Jovi Sulistiawan, Ph.D, Dr. Windijarto, Dr. Puput Tri Komalasari, Sony Kusumasondjaja, Ph.D, Zahrin, Dunga, Nurul, and Elsa.

The strategic meeting focused on developing reciprocal academic collaboration between the UNAIR Department of Management and UiTM. Discussions included developing a student exchange program through international internships in UNAIR's partner industries, collaborative research in strategic and financial management, and opportunities for joint teaching and guest lectures to enrich global perspectives in the learning process. The Head of the UNAIR Department of Management, Dr. Yetty Dwi Lestari, stated that this collaboration has long-term significance for the internationalization program. "We encourage collaboration that is not merely ceremonial, but truly produces mutually reinforcing academic activities," she said.

In addition to teaching and research, the discussion also highlighted opportunities for international curriculum development as part of efforts to achieve global accreditation for study programs under the Department of Management. Vice Dean III, Novrys, Ph.D., emphasized the importance of expanding collaboration beyond conventional academic activities. "International collaboration must reach the community. We see great potential in bringing in international partners in community service activities," he explained. According to him, the involvement of international academics in community service activities can strengthen knowledge transfer and increase the international exposure of UNAIR's community empowerment programs.

The presence of APL Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nurazilah binti Zainal through the staff mobility scheme is a strategic momentum in strengthening a dynamic and global academic ecosystem.

He expressed his appreciation for the UNAIR Department of Management's readiness in building long-term partnerships. "UNAIR has a strong academic foundation and is open to international collaboration. This provides a good foundation for developing more impact-driven joint programs," he said. The implementation of this collaboration is also in line with UNAIR's support for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

Through structured and sustainable international collaboration, the Department of Management strives to expand the quality of learning, improve student competencies, and strengthen global networks as part of UNAIR's commitment to becoming a World Class University.
