FEB UNAIR displays research and community service innovation on Hitex 2025

(Feb News) Tuesday, May 2025 - Universitas Airlangga (Airlangga University) held an Akbar Research Invention & Community Development Exhibition (HITEX) 2025 event on Tuesday-21/5/2025) at the Airlangga Convention Center (ACC), MERR-C Campus. Hilex is a national-scale research exhibition involving 24 Legal State Higher Education (PTN-BH) and industrial partners from various national strategic sectors.

This event was officially opened by the Chancellor Universitas Airlangga, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih, SE, MT, Ak., Ca, who expressed his pride because Unair became the first host in the implementation of Hitex. "Coinciding with the National Awakening Day on May 20, we commemorate it with activities that are not only ceremonial, but also substantial," he said in the inauguration remarks.

The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga (FEB Unair), took part in this event by presenting two superior research booths that raised innovations in community empowerment and product downstreaming. Present directly at the exhibition was the leadership of FEB Unair, namely Dean of FEB UNAIR - Prof. Dian Agustia, SE, M.Si., AK., CMA., CA.; Deputy Dean I Dr. Wisnu Wibowo, SE, MA; Deputy Dean II - Prof. Dr. Nisful Laila, SE, M.com; and Deputy Dean III - Dr. Ahmad Rizki Sridadi, SE, M.com.

The two booths displayed by FEB Unair came from the research group:

  1. Center for Innovative Islamic Investment and Capital Market (CIIICAM) chaired by Sulistya Rusgianto, SE, MIF., Ph.D.
  2. Center for Sociopreneur and Digitalpreneur , chaired by Dr. GRIMAN CANDRA PREMANANTO, SE, M.Sc.

The two research groups presented superior works in the form of community service programs in Kandangan Village, Lumajang, East Java. FEB UNAIR introduces the development of typical Kandangan coffee as a local commodity that has gone through the process of innovation, quality improvement, and assistance to be prepared to compete in the national market. This product is part of the results of collaboration in the PPK Ormawa involving students and lecturers.

In addition, FEB UNAIR also featured a program to increase family financial planning literacy for women in the agriculture and fisheries sectors. This program targets groups of fishermen and farmers to increase their understanding of sustainable household financial management. The activity includes education education, asset management, risk mitigation, to the preparation of family budget strategies.

This program directly supports the target downstreaming of research to the community launched by the Unair Research and Community Service Institute (LPPM). "The aim is to introduce the results of research and organizations that have the potential to be studied. We also invite partners from the business world and industry so that business matching that facilitates research products to be applied in the community," explained the Chairperson of LPPM Airlangga University.

The participation of FEB UNAIR in Hilex 2025 strengthened the faculty's commitment in bridging the results of research and community service with the real needs of the business world and the local community. Through the social entrepreneurship-based approach and village economic empowerment, the programs displayed encourage the creation of employment opportunities, increasing the capacity of local economic actors, and the development of superior products based on innovation. This collaboration is expected to be an inclusive grassroots economic growth catalyst and accelerate the downstreaming of innovation that supports sustainable industrial development and infrastructure.
