DIGITALLY LITERATE MSMEs, ECONOMY RESURRECTS! UNAIR FEB STUDENTS AND KPPU COLLABORATE TO BUILD PEOPLE'S ENTERPRISES IN EAST JAKARTA

Jakarta, Wednesday, August 6, 2025 – Efforts to strengthen the people's economy were once again echoed through a program entitled "Impact Campus: Students Care for MSMEs Vol. 2", a collaborative initiative between the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga (FEB UNAIR) and the Business Competition Supervisory Commission (KPPU) Regional Office IV. This program was implemented for one month, from July 7 to August 8, 2025, with the main mission of encouraging MSME digitalization education and the application of healthy business competition principles in the East Jakarta area. As the implementer, Ravina Mauliapriliany Noer Said, a student of the FEB UNAIR Management Undergraduate Program, went directly to the field to provide mentoring, education, and advocacy to three local business actors in Pulogebang Village, Cakung District.

The three MSMEs targeted for mentoring—Aishii Boba & Tea, Warung Ulfa, and Rumah Makan Padang Ajo—faced a variety of business challenges, from a lack of visual identity, inactive social media platforms, to a completely manual payment system. Ravina began the program by conducting in-depth interviews with the business owners to identify the challenges they faced. Based on these findings, she developed solutions tailored to the needs of each MSME, focusing on the program's two main pillars: MSME digitalization education and the implementation of healthy and ethical business competition principles.

The solutions implemented include creating a business logo, opening an Instagram account, Linktree integration, registering with Google Maps, creating a content planner, and implementing cashless payments via QRIS. As a simple yet impactful innovation, Ravina also created a loyalty card for Aishii Boba & Tea as a strategy to maintain customer loyalty. For Warung Ulfa, the assistance focused on strengthening digital visibility through Google Maps and business branding. Meanwhile, Rumah Makan Padang Ajo has now switched to using WhatsApp Business to separate personal and business communications and strengthen promotions through social media.

The program's impact was immediately felt by business owners. Agus, owner of Aishii Boba & Tea, said that implementing QRIS and Ravina's loyalty strategy had helped simplify transactions and increase business appeal. Ulfa, owner of Warung Ulfa, said she felt more confident now that her business had a logo and was easily found online. Ajik, from Rumah Makan Padang Ajo, also felt a significant benefit after business messages were no longer mixed with personal communications, thanks to more structured WhatsApp Business and social media management.

Not only targeting MSMEs, Ravina also carried out an educational mission to the younger generation through a visit to Al Azhar Kelapa Gading Islamic High School. During this visit, Ravina provided information and an introduction to the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga , to 12th-grade students, by conveying various important things such as how to enter college, campus accreditation, available study programs, and supporting facilities for lectures at FEB UNAIR. This activity aims to increase students' insight and motivation in planning for higher education, while also introducing FEB UNAIR as one of the leading economics education institutions in Indonesia that is ready to produce superior and globally competitive graduates.

The Student Care for UMK Program Vol. 2 implemented by Ravina is proof that FEB UNAIR students are not only learning in the classroom, but are also able to be present as agents of change in the community. With an educational approach to digitalizing MSMEs and strengthening the principles of healthy business competition, this program has a real impact in increasing the competitiveness of micro-business actors at the local level. In addition to having a direct impact on MSMEs, this program also provides real benefits for various parties involved. For students, especially Ravina, this activity is an opportunity to directly apply management knowledge, as well as train communication, analysis, and problem-solving skills. For FEB UNAIR, this program strengthens the commitment to the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, while affirming the campus's position as a strategic partner in community development. On the other hand, the KPPU has a new channel to socialize the principles of healthy business competition in a concrete manner. As for MSMEs, this program has a direct impact on increasing digital literacy, operational efficiency, and sustainable service professionalism.

This program also contributes to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), such as SDG 1 (poverty alleviation) through increasing economic independence, SDG 4 (quality education) through educating entrepreneurs and students, SDG 8 (inclusive economic growth) through business digitalization, and SDG 17 (cross-sector partnerships) through collaboration between campuses and state institutions.

Through her active involvement in this program, Ravina Mauliapriliany Noer Said, a student in the Bachelor of Management Program at FEB UNAIR, has demonstrated that the concrete actions of one student can bring about significant change for three MSMEs simultaneously. It is hoped that this synergy between universities and the KPPU can become a national role model in strengthening a resilient, adaptive, and digitally competitive MSME ecosystem across Indonesia.
