Developing MSME Marketing, Going Global, Going Digital, and Growth Mindset with PT Pegadaian and the Faculty of Economics and Business

(FEB News) Support MSMEs in Surabaya, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga (FEB UNAIR) through the Center for Entrepreneurship and Industrial Relations (PKRI) FEB UNAIR, chaired by Dr. Tri Siwi Agustina, SE.,M.Si., collaborates with PT Pegadaian to provide MSME assistance for PT Pegadaian customers (29/08/2022). This mentoring program aims to provide a development forum for PT Pegadaian customers and student representatives from WEBS Universitas Airlangga regarding the important value of marketing in MSMEs to improve community welfare.

The MSME mentoring program, in the form of a seminar opened with a speech by: 1.) Dr. Ahmad Rizki Sridadi - Deputy Dean III FEB Unair; and 2.) Machmoed Noerharijanto - Head of Non -Pawn Department of PT. Surabaya Area Pegadaian 1, held to provide insight into how marketing strategies to MSMEs brought by Dr. GRIMAN CANDRA PREMANANTO SE, M.Sc. - Chairman of the FEB Unair Management Department, to support marketing knowledge for MSME actors, especially PT Pegadaian customers in Surabaya. 

 

Some of the topics covered in the MSME Mentoring Program are determining the target market, determining the right price, and providing insight into the importance of branding in MSME marketing. This program seeks to maximize the potential of MSMEs to increase markets and decent income.

 

In delivering the material, Mr. Gancar gave the motto "Going global, going digital, and growth mindset" which means that MSME players must be able to adapt to enter the digital world, and develop a mindset to start new strategies and advance economic prosperity. "Do something else, do something more," said Pak Gancar. This is an incentive for MSMEs to innovate and have the intention to develop.

 

At the end of the event, Mr. Gancar invited students and customers to use domestic products to support the domestic economy. In addition, Mr. Gancar also suggested that all MSMEs enter the digital world. "Make people have empathy by making stories that make people interested in social media," he said. This is the added value for a business so that it can encourage MSME sales in Surabaya.
