(FEB NEWS) The public's euphoria in welcoming Eid al-Adha was very clear a few days ago. Most people were involved in a series of events ranging from worship to the distribution of meat from the slaughter of sacrificial animals, which has become a long-standing tradition. However, the bitter reality that we need to be aware of together is that not all levels of society can enjoy this. This fact is what then motivated the Community Service Department (PENGMAS) of the Student Executive Board of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Universitas Airlangga in collaboration with Amira Bilqis, and Waniparti, to hold an activity entitled "Blessing of Qurban Bina Abdi Desa 2023" located in Tunjung Village, Gucialit District, Lumajang Regency, on June 30, 2023.

Based on survey results, the people of Tunjung Village almost never receive sponsorship or assistance in acquiring sacrificial animals, often resulting in an uneven distribution of slaughtered animals due to the small number of animals. This village's geographical location is less strategic, remote, and difficult to access compared to other villages in the same sub-district.

In order to realize the dream of the people of Tunjung Village to be able to celebrate Eid al-Adha with sufficient Qurban animals, through the 2023 Village Service Development Work Program, the Department of Community Service of the Student Executive Board of the Faculty of Economics and Business (BEM FEB), in collaboration with the Amira Bilqis Foundation, opened donations for the general public who are willing to set aside their fortune to buy Qurban animals which will later be given entirely to the people of Tunjung Village. Not to forget, the Department of Community Service of the Student Executive Board of the Faculty of Economics and Business (BEM FEB) also collaborated with Waniparti, a community of young people native to Lumajang, to support documentation and publication needs.

After one month of opening donations, this collaboration initiated by BEM FEB managed to collect 2 (two) cows and 7 (seven) goats, as well as cash amounting to Rp1,100,000, which was allocated to provide financial assistance to residents who helped with the process of slaughtering the sacrificial animals. As of June 30, 2023, all the sacrificial animals had arrived in Tunjung Village and were immediately slaughtered. Shortly after, the distribution process to the villagers was carried out. Based on data collection, more than 300 (three hundred) families in Tunjung Village had received their share of the sacrificial animals evenly.

The "Blessing of Qurban Bina Abdi Desa 2023" activity, which is the result of a beautiful collaboration between the Department of Community Service of BEM FEB UNAIR, Amira Bilqis, and Waniparti, is inseparable from the goal of implementing the SDGs points that have a crucial role in building a better and more comprehensive society. The SDG points targeted in this activity, especially SDG 1 (No Poverty) and SDG 2 (Zero Hunger). Hopefully in the future, collaboration with a vision and mission that prioritizes humanity and welfare will be increasingly carried out, for the development of a better civilization.
