The Indonesian Accountants Association (IAI) Educator Accountant Compartment, has held a member meeting to renew the management for the 2018-2020 period, on Thursday (06/09/2018), at the 21st National Accounting Symposium (SNA) at Mulawarman University, Samarinda. Also present were the Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education Prof. Mohamad Nasir, Ph.D., Ak., CA and the Secretary General of the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education, Prof. Ainun Na'im, Ph.D, MBA, Ak., CA. IAI KAPd is one of the compartments of the Indonesian Accountants Association (IAI), with the Chairman of the National Executive Board (DPN) of IAI is Prof. Dr. Mardiasmo, MBA., Akt., CA, who is currently the Deputy Minister of Finance.
The Chairperson of the IAI KAPd East Java Region, who is also the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga, Prof. Dr. Dian Agustia, SE, M.Si., Ak., CA., CMA was elected as Chairperson of the IAI KAPd replacing Prof. Dr. Nunuy Nur Afiah, SE, M. Si., Ak., CA from Padjadjaran University. He was elected through a voting system.
In his presentation after being elected, Prof. Dian stated that he would make fundamental breakthroughs. This will involve establishing the IAI KAPd by empowering all accounting lecturers to work together to advance the accounting education profession.
"Going forward, there will be many fundamental changes regarding lecturer development. We will synergize by empowering all Indonesian accounting lecturers to advance accounting education in Indonesia. Efforts to achieve equal quality in accounting education throughout Indonesia will be maximized by increasing international publications, international-class education, and high-quality accreditation," he said.
Concrete changes are outlined through the delivery of the Vision, Mission and Strategic Program to all members of the IAI Accountant Educators

To become a leading professional organization of educators in the development of education and teaching, research & development, and community service from a national and international perspective.
MISSION
1. Developing academic, professional, and/or vocational education with excellence based on Pancasila values.
2. Conducting and developing innovative basic, applied, and policy research with world-class excellence based on national values to support the development of education and community service.

6. Strengthening the Accounting Journal Alliance to increase competitiveness for publication and dissemination of lecturers' research results
7. Strengthening study program institutions through accreditation development
According to him, after being elected as the chairman of IAI KAPd, the Vision, Mission and Strategic Programs can be carried out by elaborating the ideas/concepts and synergy of all accounting lecturers and IAI KAPd stakeholders.
"Together with all elements of the IAI KAPd's strength, we are obligated to provide and strengthen accounting educators throughout Indonesia in education, research, and community service. Therefore, accounting lecturers in Indonesia, along with the IAI KAPd management, actively play a role in advancing accounting education in Indonesia. This is done through strengthening research, enhancing lecturer competency, and strengthening the institution through quality accreditation," he said.
He added, at the IAI KAPd members meeting, Prof. Nunuy had made IAI KAPd inclusive, encouraging the progress of activities in the Forum, Regions and producing standard products for education.
"What Prof. Nunuy has done for the advancement of accounting educators will continue to be done and developed," he said.
