The Master of Economics, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) and Transparency International Indonesia (TII) held the Compliance and Integrity Leadership Program (CLEAR). Held on May 3, 2017, in the Borobudur Room, Garden Palace Hotel, Surabaya, the training program emphasized the importance of the private sector in eradicating corruption.
In his remarks, Dadang Trisasongko, Secretary General of Transparency International Indonesia (TII), emphasized the importance of corruption prevention efforts in the private sector. The private sector's role in eradicating corruption is crucial to prevent further increases in corruption. If this level of corruption is maintained, the phenomenon of state capture will occur, where corrupt private companies dominate state policies.
In his remarks, Wisnu Wibowo, Head of the Master of Economics Program at the Faculty of Economics, Universitas Airlangga emphasized the importance of anti-corruption to increase competitiveness and encourage quality economic growth, particularly in Surabaya. "The implementation of Corruption-Free Business promises efficient business prospects that support the quality and sustainable economic growth of Surabaya."
"Companies run on anti-corruption principles have proven to survive in the global market," said Wahyudi M Tohar, Program Manager of the Economic Governance Department, Transparency International Indonesia.
A total of 22 participants attended the event. Participants included private sector employees, state-owned enterprises (BUMN), regional-owned enterprises (BUMD), and village-owned enterprises (BUM Desa), academics (lecturers, academic staff, and students), or employees of central and regional government agencies interested in anti-corruption compliance issues.
