Building a Sustainable Energy Future, the CEO of FEB UNAIR Teaches Presents the VP of ESG of PT PLN (Persero)

(FEB NEWS) The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga (FEB UNAIR) once again demonstrated its commitment to shaping adaptive and visionary future leaders through the CEO Mengajar , which was held on Friday, May 2, 2025, at the Soepoyo Hall, FEB UNAIR. This activity presented Steve D. Anggara, CFA, MBA, QCRO — Vice President of Risk of Macroeconomy, Transition Energy, and ESG of PT PLN (Persero) — as the main speaker in a class themed “Sustainable Business Practices and Reporting” .

With the theme "Building a Sustainable Energy Future with PLN through ESG & Sustainability" , Steve explained the dynamics of global macroeconomics, energy transition, and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) strategies implemented by PLN in its efforts to achieve the Net Zero Emissions target by 2060. Students gained an understanding that ESG is not just a report, but is an integral part of a modern, resilient and responsible business process.

The discussion also highlighted various future challenges, ranging from the climate crisis, geopolitical tensions, to the technological revolution, and how companies like PLN mitigate these risks through strong and systematic sustainability governance.

Attended by students of UNAIR's Undergraduate Accounting Program, this session provided a collaborative learning platform between academia and industry, while also raising awareness of the importance of sustainability and the role of the younger generation in driving change. The program also supports the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), in line with UNAIR's vision of becoming a world-class university with real impact.
