(FEB NEWS) The UMK Care Program Vol.2 is an initiative of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) to address the challenges faced by Micro and Small Enterprises (UMK) in Trenggalek Regency and to provide information about higher education to students there. This program aims to empower UMK through mentoring and training, as well as to introduce UNAIR comprehensively to students. This series of programs is designed to identify UMK challenges, provide mentoring in business management and innovation, organize campus socialization to increase study interest, and build multi-party collaboration.
The program preparation phase was conducted on July 9-11, 2025, and included field observations and in-depth interviews with MSEs in Kerjo and Nglongsor Villages, Trenggalek Regency. This phase is crucial for understanding the specific conditions, needs, and challenges faced by MSEs as a basis for designing targeted programs. The core phase of the program was conducted over four days, from August 26-29, 2025, during which all prepared programs were implemented directly with MSEs. Each MSE received a program tailored to their individual needs.
Some of the MSME empowerment programs implemented include:
- Basic Financial Recording Training: Equipping MSEs with the skills to monitor cash flow and profits.
- Business Registration on Google Maps: Helping MSMEs register on Google Maps to increase digital visibility and consumer reach.
- Socialization Regarding KPPU and Healthy Business Competition: Educating MSEs about the importance of healthy business competition in accordance with the law and the role of the Business Competition Supervisory Commission (KPPU).
- Business Logo/Brand Sticker Creation: Facilitating MSMEs with professional logo stickers to strengthen brand identity.
- Making Promotional Media in the form of Banners: Providing assistance in making banners as a means of physical promotion.
- Product Catalog Creation: Assisting MSMEs in compiling digital or printed product catalogs as a professional promotional tool.
- Socialization Regarding Business Legality: Providing education on the importance of business legality, including procedures for processing a Business Identification Number (NIB), PIRT Permit, and Halal Certification.
In addition to empowering MSEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises), the program also held outreach programs at high schools in Trenggalek. The materials presented covered the general profile of FEB UNAIR, its vision, mission, accreditation, study programs, and competitive advantages, aimed at increasing student interest in pursuing higher education.

• Eight out of nine MSMEs have begun implementing financial records.
• Nine out of ten MSMEs were successfully registered on Google Maps.
• The average post-test score for KPPU socialization and business legality increased from 101 to 149, indicating a better understanding of business law and ethics.

• Four banners have been installed at MSME business locations.
• Five MSMEs received and utilized product catalogs.
• High school students demonstrated enthusiasm and good understanding, with an average of 5 out of 10 correct answers on the Kahoot quiz.
The success of this program is supported by the synergy between UNAIR FEB students and a strategic collaboration with the KPPU Regional Office IV. Students play a crucial role as program implementers, while the KPPU provides an understanding of healthy business competition. This synergy creates a fair and sustainable business climate for MSEs in Trenggalek.
The MSME Care Program Vol.2 contributes to the achievement of several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
