(Inspirational Story) Surabaya, October 6, 2025 – Perseverance, enthusiasm for learning, and the courage to explore opportunities are the main provisions of Albar Muhammad Aziz, a student of the Undergraduate Program of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga (FEB UNAIR) who succeeded in winning the title of Best Graduate S1, at the Prospective Graduate Briefing event for Period 254 September 2025 FEB UNAIR, on September 26, 2025. Born in Jakarta on March 7, 2003, Albar proves that success is not the result of luck alone, but the fruit of consistency and hard work.
During his studies at FEB UNAIR, Albar not only excelled academically but also actively participated in organizations, participated in national and international competitions, and underwent a professional internship at the Financial Services Authority (OJK). Each of these experiences was crucial in forging his character, strengthening his academic competency, and preparing him for the workforce.
Organize to Grow and Contribute
Despite his busy schedule, Albar still finds time to be active in organizations. He joined the Islamic Economics Student Association (HIMA EKIS) in the Scientific Division and the Association of Sharia Economics Studies (AcSES) in the Science Division. He also participates in various committees, broadening his experience and expanding his network.
Through organizational activities, Albar learned to manage his time, work in teams, and hone his communication and problem-solving skills. His focus on academic organizations also made these activities relevant to his field of study. Meeting other high-achieving students even encouraged him to form a competition team and win various awards together.
"The organization taught me not only to think critically, but also to be empathetic and collaborative. All of this has been incredibly beneficial, both academically and professionally," he said.
Learning Is The Best Investment
In achieving the title of Best Graduate, Albar emphasized the importance of focus and discipline during the learning process. He adheres to a simple yet powerful principle: maximize every opportunity in class.
"Don't procrastinate on studying. Lecture time is the most effective time to grasp knowledge. I also make a habit of taking notes, as Imam Syafi'i said: knowledge is like a hunted animal, and notes are its leash," he said.
In addition to his diligent studies, Albar also received support from a BSI scholarship and continued to actively participate in competitions and academic activities in Islamic Economics. The combination of hard work, campus support, and competitive experience led to his top achievements.
Message for the Next Generation of FEB UNAIR
For the juniors, Albar advised them to stay focused on their studies and not give up easily on challenges.
"Focus on class so you truly absorb the knowledge, because after that, there are organizations, competitions, and other activities that also require time. The key is to do your best, then put your trust in God," he said sincerely.
He also hopes that FEB UNAIR will continue to strengthen its collaboration with industry, so that students can gain practical experience to complement the theory in the classroom. "That way, FEB UNAIR will continue to produce graduates who are not only academically superior but also ready to compete in the professional world," he added.
The Exemplary Behavior of a True Learner
Albar Muhammad Aziz's journey reflects the spirit of FEB UNAIR students who not only pursue achievement but also strive to give meaning to every process. His success in various competitions, even at the international level, is clear evidence that integrity, hard work, and a relentless spirit of learning can take someone beyond their limits.
FEB UNAIR also remains committed to producing a young generation that is globally competitive, has leadership qualities, and makes a real contribution to the nation's progress.
