Friday, September 21, 2018, I left my boarding house for Juanda Airport. The plane took off at approximately 9:30 AM. I arrived in Malaysia at approximately 1:00 PM Malaysian time. Then I bought a starter pack for RM 25. After that, I prayed first. Then I looked for the ticket counter to take the bus to KL Sentral. The ticket price was RM 12, the bus only left at 2:30 PM. I arrived at KL Sentral at approximately 3:30 PM. I exited KL Sentral to a place where I could take a Grab. Finally, I waited in front of the bank. Then I took a Grab to SS City Hotel. Saturday, September 22, 2018, I left the hotel for IIUM. Because it was very far and I didn't know where it was, I finally ordered a Grab. The price was RM 30. Alhamdulillah, I arrived at IIUM at 7:00 AM. The 2018 Asean Youth Conference was organized by PPI throughout Malaysia. This event takes place from 08.00 to 05.30 pm Malaysian time. This event took place at Universiti Islam Internasional Malaysia (IIUM) Gombak, Kuala Lumpur. This program runs from July 31 2018 as the deadline for submitting abstracts and the deadline for submitting Conference Papers is August 31 2018.
The 2018 ASEAN Youth Conference carried the theme "Industrial Revolution 4.0" with six different themes. Participants could choose a theme based on their expertise. The six themes were Business and Management, Law and Islamic Studies, Engineering, Health and Medicine, Computer Science and Information Technology, and Social Sciences. These themes were further divided into several sub-themes based on the participants' expertise.
The event was greeted with high enthusiasm from the AYC 2018 participants. More than 230 people attended the hall of the International Islamic University, both participants and audiences. The event opened with the singing of the Indonesian and Malaysian national anthems, the striking of the gong as a form of opening the event and followed by a very charming Gamelan performance by Citra Gamelan Gema Gangsa. After the opening, the first session was conducted by Ir. Uke Kurniawan Usman, MT. IPM. After that, a coffee break was held first.
The second speaker was Dr. Sony Zulhuda, followed by Mr. Rezki Anindhito, and finally, Dr. Amirul Mukminin. Afterward, the participants prayed Dhuhur and ate. Then, each class presented their papers. There, we discussed our ideas with one another.
The AYC event concluded with the announcement of the best participant's paper. Jesita Anjani, from Gadjah Mada University, emerged as the best presenter, defeating competitors from Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, and the Philippines. This result earned Jesita a RM150 cash prize. (Jessica) After the closing ceremony, there was a certificate collection.
