UNAIR NEWS – As a form of commitment to improving knowledge in the field of management, three universities held an activity entitled The Joint Committee of Conference Asia Academy of Management – ​​AAOM 2019. The event was held in collaboration with Asia Academy of Management – Universitas Airlangga Indonesia – Universitas Pertamina Indonesia.

Held at the Patra Bali Hotel, the event, held from June 19 to 21, 2019, was held in the form of an International Conference. Regarding the activity attended by 667 participants from 27 countries in Asia, Europe and America, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business UNAIIR Prof. Dr. Dian Agustia, SE., M.Si., Ak., said that the activity, which was the first to be held in Indonesia, became a prestigious forum, especially for scientists in the field of management science.

"This is a very prestigious event for our management scientists," he said.

Interviewed by UNAIR NEWS during a break in the event, Prof. Dian stated that, as a full supporter of the event, she hopes that management scientists can further improve the quality and quantity of research on management movements in Indonesia. Furthermore, for Prof. Dian, the event is also a way to improve the quality of management scientists in Indonesia, especially at UNAIR.

"Certainly, this prestigious event can be an excellent platform to improve the quality of our scientists," he emphasized.

Ultimately, as the first such event in Indonesia, Prof. Dian continued, it could be a milestone in strengthening the standing of Indonesian management scientists globally. For additional information, AAOM events have previously been held in Hong Kong in 1998, Singapore in 2000, Bangkok in 2002, Shanghai in 2004, Tokyo in 2006, Taipei in 2008, Macau in 2010, Seoul in 2012, Hong Kong in 2015, Kitakyushu in 2017, and Bali in 2019.

Regarding the 2019 AAOM participants, there were 249 with a total of 26 countries consisting of Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Australia, Indonesia, USA, Singapore, South Korea, Netherland, Japan, United Kingdom, India, Canada, Denmark Pakistan, New Zealand, UAE, Bangladesh, France, Malaysia, Thailand, Israel, Norway, Philippines, Scotland, Switzerland, Vietnam.
