9th Iceb 2025 Officially closed, Feb Unair emphasizes the academic role in encouraging ethics, technology, and social impacts

(Feb News) Surabaya, June 4, 2025 - a series of activities of The 9th International Conference and Ph.D. The Colloquium for Economics and Business (ICEB 2025) organized by the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga (FEB Unair) officially ended on Tuesday (4/6/2025). The two -day international conference presents academics, researchers, practitioners, and students from various countries to discuss the role of ethics and technology in encouraging sustainable social impacts.

9 Th Iceb 2025 closed by Dr. Wisnu Wibowo , SE, M.Sc., as Deputy Dean I FEB Unair. In his remarks, he expressed his appreciation for the spirit of global collaboration that existed during the conference. "We are proud to be the host of conferences that not only produce academic insights, but also encourage real impacts through cross -disciplined and state collaboration. Hopefully this will be a momentum to strengthen the culture of ethics, innovation, and global solidarity," said Dr. Vishnu, in his closing remarks.

A series of activities on the 2nd day, namely Ph.D. Colloquium, Parallel Presentations, and International Community Service. In a doctoral colloquium, S3 students from various institutions presented their research and received input from international academics. Meanwhile, the parallel session became a productive discussion room to explain various studies of management, accounting, macroeconomics, sustainability, to Islamic finance.

One of the important moments in closing 9 TH ICEB 2025 was the implementation of the International Community Service targeting local MSMEs in Surabaya. Through collaboration between conference participants and the FEB Unair Academica Civitas, this activity provides direct assistance to micro businesses related to financial planning and sustainable marketing strategies. This step shows how academic results can be applied directly in the social context, as a form of concrete contribution to the community.

The conference was closed with the announcement of the winner of the Best Paper Awards, consisting of three selected works:

1. Clawback Policy Performance and Corporate Reporting Outcomes - Baban Eulawi (Curtin University, Australia)

2. Good Corporate Governance and Sustainability Reporting Quality in Indonesia: Does Family Matter? - Arumega Zarefar, Prof. Dr. Dian Agustia, and Wiwiek Dianawati (Riau University & FEB UNAIR)

3. From Redistribution to Orchestration: a Conceptual Model for the Women's Empowerment Zakat Service Platform - Collaboration between the Bandung Institute of Technology and Tokyo Institute of Technology (present online)

Two of them will be recommended to be published in the International Journal of the Asian Journal of Accounting Research (Scopus Q2) and one article in the Journal of Islamic Economics and Business (Sinta 1). In addition, 9 other scientific works were also nominated for publications in national accredited journals.

The entire series of 9th ICEB 2025 activities reflects the commitment of FEB Airlangga University to the implementation of high quality, inclusive, and impact higher education. This conference is part of the institutional effort in supporting the goals of sustainable development, especially in strengthening international networks, increasing the economic literacy of the community, and the capacity building of micro business actors.

With the successful implementation of ICEB 2025, Feb Unair stressed its role as a leading center in the development of economics and business that is not only academic oriented, but also to global social contributions. This conference is expected to be an inspiration for other sustainability efforts in the future, both through research collaboration and concrete action in the community.
