(FEB NEWS) Thursday, August 8, 2024 – The Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Airlangga (FEB UNAIR) proudly held its 63rd Anniversary Celebration at the Fadjar Notonagoro Hall, 2nd Floor, FEB UNAIR. This event not only served as a moment of reflection on the faculty's long journey but also as an important milestone in the development of entrepreneurship in the academic environment, marked by the symbolic handover of the "Entrepreneurship Center" from Bank Indonesia.

Present to give remarks were the Rector Universitas Airlangga – Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih, SE, MT, Ak., Vice Rector II UNAIR – Prof. Dr. Muhammad Madyan, SE, M.Si., M.Fin. In his remarks, Prof. Madyan, believed that with the spirit of togetherness and hard work FEB UNAIR will be able to achieve its Vision and Mission, “let us make this anniversary a momentum to strengthen synergy and collaboration with the entire academic community.”
On the same occasion, the Rector Universitas Airlangga , in his remarks, said that FEB UNAIR has a strategic role in overcoming two main challenges in the world of education, namely accessibility and relevance. He hopes that with the contribution of FEB UNAIR, the education participation rate can increase, considering that FEB UNAIR students contribute 25% of the total UNAIR students. Furthermore, the relevance of education offered by FEB UNAIR is expected to be able to reduce the youth unemployment rate by increasing the employability of its graduates.
According to Prof. Nasih, in the future the University will be encouraged to become a Knowledge Based Entrepreneur University and it is hoped that FEB UNAIR will be able to become the backbone to lead UNAIR towards the title of Knowledge-Based Entrepreneur University, and bring UNAIR to greater progress and glory.
The Dean of FEB UNAIR – Prof. Dr. Dian Agustia, SE., MSi., Ak., CMA., CA emphasized FEB UNAIR's commitment to not only produce graduates who are intellectually intelligent, but also have noble morals, in accordance with the motto Universitas Airlangga , "excellence with morality," which is embodied in the character of UNAIR HEBAT. Quoting Nelson Mandela, he emphasized the importance of education as the most powerful weapon to change the world, and encouraged all parties to continue to innovate for the progress of the nation. The Dean also saw the Dies Natalis moment as the right time to strengthen synergy with the spirit of togetherness and love, which is expected to bring FEB UNAIR to more brilliant achievements. With this spirit, he invited all parties to work together and make FEB UNAIR an educational institution that is not only academically superior, but also a second home full of love and care.

During the event, a symbolic handover ceremony for the “Entrepreneurship Center” was also held by the Deputy Representative of Bank Indonesia for East Java Province, Mr. M. Noor Nugroho, to the Dean of FEB UNAIR – Prof. Dr. Dian Agustia, SE., MSi., Ak., CMA., CA. This Entrepreneurship Center will be a forum for students to hone and develop creative and innovative ideas that are expected to produce unique businesses and works with high economic value. In addition, the Entrepreneurship Center is also expected to be a means for FEB UNAIR to contribute to developing the entrepreneurial ecosystem, both among students and the community, through various activities such as training, internships, consultations, and mentoring in the fields of cooperatives and MSMEs.

Not only that, the Anniversary event was also enlivened with special offerings from PKRI in collaboration with the Department of Creative Economy through the FEB Market event. This bazaar showcased a variety of innovative works and products from FEB students, ranging from fashion, handicrafts, to food and beverages. FEB Market became a platform to showcase students' creativity and entrepreneurial skills, as well as a means of promoting the unique products they produce.
The excitement of the Anniversary event peaked with various entertainment and interesting surprises. The participants were treated to an energetic performance from Coffeemix Dance that enlivened the atmosphere, followed by a long-awaited door prize draw. The event became even more special with the announcement of the main prize of an Umrah package, won by 2 UNAIR FEB Education Staff: Merina Mirzatriana, SE. and Rudi Premana who met the requirements had never been on Umrah or Hajj. Not to be missed, the announcement of the winners of the Fun Game added joy and togetherness among all attendees, making this Anniversary unforgettable.
