COMPARATIVE STUDY OF IPB'S SHARIA ECONOMICS AND ISLAMIC ECONOMICS OF UNIVERSITAS AIRLANGGA

On Saturday (15/10), the Islamic Economics study program participated in a comparative study with the Sharia Economics Department of the Bogor Agricultural University (IPB). The event began with remarks from the Head of the Sharia Economics Department of IPB, Dr. Asep Nurhalim, Lc, Mpdi. and continued with remarks from Dr. Sri Herianingrum, SE,. MS, Head of the Islamic Economics Department Universitas Airlangga. The gathering was then opened with a video presentation from both departments.

 

The following activity included a sharing session from both departments, starting with IPB. Ms. Laily Dwi Arsyianti, Dr., SE, M.Sc., the Department Secretary, explained the curriculum mapping to align with the Independent Campus curriculum. The Department of Sharia Economics has also adopted a major and minor system, where majors are courses taught and minors are courses outside the study program that are required of each student. 

 This was followed by a presentation from Islamic Economics by Mr. Sulistya Rusgianto SE, MIF, Ph.D. He explained that the Islamic Economics Department annually collaborates with regional and national institutions such as the Islamic Economics Community (MES), the National Committee for Islamic Economics and Finance (KNEKS), and the Association of Islamic Economists, as well as international universities, such as Universiti Malaya and the Islamic Science University of Malaysia. The Department of Islamic Economics is also developing a Sustainable Education for All strategy, where education is at the core of the department's activities and programs. It was also explained that the department is trying to establish an integrated lab that will focus on Islamic finance, social finance, and sociopreneurship.

The gathering between the two departments concluded with a question-and-answer session. Both the Sharia Economics Department of IPB and the Islamic Economics Department of UNAIR agreed to collaborate on halal product research and journal publication. The afternoon's event concluded with a performance by the Sharia Economics Department of IPB and a group photo.
