Online lectures have prevented students from fully adapting to the new digital landscape. Recognizing the importance of providing guidance on adaptation policies for the Teaching and Learning Process (PBM), the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at UNAIR held a Casual Discussion 2 with the Vice Dean I on Saturday, March 27, 2021.

Dr. Wisnu Wibowo , SE, M.Si., as Vice Dean 1 of FEB UNAIR said that in the second series of Casual Discussion, there will be four main discussion topics, namely how to improve the quality of online PBM, the Fast Track (acceleration of undergraduate-graduate education), conversion of achievements to Semester Credit Units (SKS) and how to improve student competency through competency certification programs.

"There must be an adaptive transition process in dealing with online learning. Otherwise, online learning will potentially reduce student competency achievement," he said.

To improve these achievements, the entire FEB UNAIR academic community must unite. Lecturers, educational staff, and even students must unite to achieve quality improvements, even though teaching and learning is conducted online. FEB UNAIR is the third-best faculty in Indonesia and ranked 401-450th in the world by the QS World University Rankings (WUR).

"When distanced, technological and infrastructure factors influence how students absorb the material. One thing that needs to be emphasized is student discipline in online ," he added.

Dr. Wisnu explained that at the beginning of online learning, the minimum attendance requirement for students of 75 percent was temporarily relaxed. However, this even semester, based on campus policy, the 75 percent attendance requirement has been reinstated.

"This is to improve student discipline. Even though the learning process is online, we already have a sophisticated platform in AULA ( Airlangga University Learning Application, ed. )," he added.

To fulfill the rector's mandate, FEB UNAIR will implement the new policy as best as possible. FEB UNAIR will continue to consider the varied real-world conditions of its students.

"Normalization of the online system is expected to ensure that student learning outcomes remain stable compared to offline learning, and if possible, even improve," he explained.

Dr. Wisnu further explained that one of the programs launched by FEB UNAIR is the Fast Track . Through the fast track , opportunities to complete and develop human resources can be more efficient. Student preparation for this program involves not only academic achievement but also mental attitude and financial aspects.

Fast Track program can also be combined with a double degree program, " he added. FEB UNAIR also launched a program to convert student achievements into relevant credits and a student certification program. Student achievements can be converted into credits, into Community Service Program (KKN) courses, or even into thesis courses.

"However, of course, there will be guidelines and SOPs regarding this matter," he concluded.
