The Department of Accounting held a webinar on the topic "Optimizing Tax Understanding for Teachers in Supporting Increased Tax Awareness and Compliance" on Saturday, August 28, 2021. This webinar event is part of a series of activities for the 60th Universitas Airlangga Quality Education through community service by providing tax knowledge to teachers.

This webinar is aimed at teachers, as they can be agents of change in shifting the mindset and paradigm of taxation in society by providing students with accurate tax insights and knowledge. It is hoped that early tax education will optimize teachers' understanding of taxation, which will then be passed on to students.

 This webinar presented three speakers who are lecturers in taxation at the Department of Accounting, namely: Dra. Mienati Somya Lasmana, MSi., Ak., BKP who presented the subtopic “VAT Law and Its Amendments”, then Dr. Heru Tjaraka, SE., MSi., Ak., BKP with the subtopic “Income Tax Aspects in Increasing Tax Awareness and Compliance” and Dr. Santi Novita, SE., MM., Ak., CA., BKP. with the subtopic “Welcoming the Reporting of Employee OP Income Tax Returns”. After the presentation of the material from the speakers, it was continued with a question and answer session moderated by Dr. Alfa Rahmiati who is also a lecturer in taxation at the Department of Accounting.
