Andika Kaya, an Accounting student from the class of 2019, successfully achieved the achievement of 1st place as Male in the 2021 Universitas Airlangga Ambassador selection event. During his tenure, the man who is familiarly called Diko will be a representative of UNAIR in various activities and will have the opportunity to be an MC, moderator, and speaker at various events.
The man, whose full name is Made Bagus Tutuan Andika Kaya, said that the motivation to become a better individual, step out of his comfort zone, and spread positive energy was what drove him to participate in the UNAIR Ambassador Selection. Diko believes that UNAIR Ambassador is the right platform for him to develop his skills and develop relationships.
The UNAIR Ambassador selection process was divided into two stages. The first stage consisted of a focus group discussion ( FGD), a written test, and an interview. The second stage consisted of an aptitude test, a presentation, and a depth interview. After passing the selection process, 18 Airlangga Knights were selected as UNAIR Ambassador Finalists. Along with 17 other Finalists, Diko then underwent an online quarantine on UNAIR insights, public speaking, grooming, branding, and other topics. "Askara Airlangga" became the main theme of this year's UNAIR Ambassador event, with high hopes that all UNAIR Ambassador Finalists would be able to represent the brilliance Universitas Airlangga .
The UNAIR Ambassador Grand Final was held on April 11, 2021, and Made Bagus Tutuan Andika Kaya (Male 1st Place) and Lintang Elin Massita (Female 1st Place) were selected. Competing with equally impressive finalists did not make Diko pessimistic. This Denpasar-born man has a proud portfolio and makes him worthy of being the main winner. In addition to being active in education and organizations, Diko is a novelist, namely Spooky Stories: The Dormitory (2015) and The Next Creator! (2017), and has been actively involved in community service activities with a concentration on fighting for children's rights since he was in high school. Diko, who recently celebrated his 20th birthday, often advocates and initiates a number of activities to listen to what children need, collaborating with various stakeholders to facilitate children's needs.
In addition, Diko also has many achievements including the 2021 KBMI Funding by the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture; 2nd Place in the ITS Expo Business Case Competition 2021; Best Poster Accrued 2021 by the East Java Young Indonesian Accountants Association; 1st Place in the Ikamala UNAIR Essay Competition 2020; Best Group of Asian Youth Summit 2020; The Honorable Mention of FEB Most Inspiring Student 2020; 1st Place in the FEB JUARA Indonesian Language Debate Competition 2020; 2nd Place in the FEB JUARA PKM Competition 2020; and 3rd Place in the Accounting Internal Competition 2020.
Besides being busy with his studies and fulfilling his mandate as UNAIR Ambassador, Diko was also entrusted to be ICONx Bank OCBC NISP to spread brand awareness . In addition, Diko actively participates in several organizations such as UKM ADS, UKMKHD, and Lingkar Sinergi. Diko proves that being busy is not a barrier to achieving success. Diko advised that knowing your potential and having self-confidence are the keys to his success. "Know the potential that friends have. There is no need to doubt your own abilities and don't compare yourself to the success of others. Just focus on yourself and be the best version to achieve your dreams," said Diko.
This man, who enjoys reading and writing novels, aspires to become a lecturer, aiming to graduate on time and pursue a master's degree. To achieve this goal, Diko plans to actively participate in various activities to gain experience and improve soft and hard skills . This will be achieved by identifying his potential, setting goals, and pursuing them wholeheartedly.
