Overview

This course aims to explore: first, themes and topics of research in the field of financial accounting; and second, the research methods used in financial accounting research, encompassing both quantitative and qualitative approaches. For each article discussed, particular attention will be given to the significant and unique contribution of the research questions, the development of a logical and coherent theoretical and empirical framework, the design of an appropriate and valid research process, rigorous and comprehensive data analysis, and a meaningful and in-depth discussion of the research findings. In addition, various alternative approaches that authors might use to address their research questions will also be critically discussed.
