FEB UNIVERSITAS AIRLANGGA AND EPHEC BELGIUM EXPLORE STRATEGIC COLLABORATION IN ACADEMIC PROGRAMS

(FEB NEWS) A strategic meeting between EPHEC (Belgium) and the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Universitas Airlangga, was successfully conducted on Wednesday, 4 February 2026, from 13.30 to 15.00 AM at FEB Universitas Airlangga. The meeting was attended by Ms. Isabelle Portzenheim, International Cooperation Coordinator of EPHEC, with her partner, Ann Michele, who visited Universitas Airlangga as an invited partner under the framework of a strategic collaboration agenda. This visit aimed to strengthen institutional relations and explore sustainable academic cooperation between the two institutions.

The meeting focused on enhancing collaboration across several academic programs, namely the Undergraduate Program in Management, Master of Management, Master of Management Science, and Doctor of Management Science. Representatives from FEB Universitas Airlangga and EPHEC exchanged perspectives on their respective academic systems, institutional strengths, and internationalization strategies. Through open and constructive dialogue, both parties emphasized the importance of aligning academic standards and institutional policies to support long-term cooperation.

One of the main topics discussed was the development of student inbound and outbound mobility programs. Both institutions expressed strong interest in facilitating student exchanges at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, enabling students to gain international academic and cultural experiences. In addition, the meeting explored opportunities for international internship programs by collaborating with industry partners in Belgium and Indonesia. These initiatives are expected to enhance students’ professional competencies and global employability.

Furthermore, the meeting addressed the potential establishment of a double-degree program between EPHEC and FEB Universitas Airlangga. Preliminary discussions were held regarding curriculum compatibility, accreditation requirements, and administrative procedures. Both parties agreed on the importance of conducting further technical evaluations and forming a joint working group to ensure that future programs meet academic quality standards and regulatory frameworks in both countries.

Overall, the strategic meeting reflected a shared commitment to strengthening international cooperation and advancing academic excellence. Both EPHEC and FEB Universitas Airlangga expressed strong enthusiasm for formalizing their collaboration through Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) and Memoranda of Agreement (MoA). This meeting marks an important milestone in building a sustainable partnership that will benefit students, faculty members, and institutional development in the long term.
