Scientific Writing Competition as one of a series of events SELEB (Sharia Economics Celebration) is an annual program organized by the Islamic Economics Study Group, University of Jakarta. This year the SELEB event has a big theme “Roles of Millennial's Generation in Educating the Public with Sharia Economics” This competition dispatched 3 student delegations from the Islamic Economics Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business, Islamic Economics Study Program, Airlangga University who previously had passed the preliminary round full papers. This event was held on October 26 – October 29, 2018.

The three students who became the delegates were Fatoni Mahendra Kurniawan, Annisa Rahma Febriyanti, and Firdayanti. On Friday, October 26 2018, there was one of the series of events from SELEB, namely a national seminar by bringing in as a speaker one of the famous Islamic Economics figures, Mr. Adiwarman Karim. The seminar participants were very enthusiastic when they met Mr. Adiwarman. The Paper Presentation was held on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at the Faculty of Economics, State University of Jakarta. Then proceed to the afternoon session of Focus Group Discussion, where all participants are individually divided into 4 sectors (Education, Infrastructure, Philanthropy, and MSMEs) which will then respond to a problem based on the case given by the committee by looking at the four sectors' point of view. .

Sunday, October 28, 2018 was held field trip to Taman Mini Indonesia Indah by bus transportation provided by the committee. At TMII, participants can see various kinds of replicas of traditional houses from all provinces in Indonesia. The announcement of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners was held after a series of workshop events organized by the Indonesian Zakat Initiative. The delegation from Unair won 1st Place in the Scientific Writing Competition.

With this activity, it is hoped that in the future it can be an inspiration in the development of Islamic Economics in this modern era. As well as realizing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education Number 2, namely Research and Research.
