Friday-Saturday, November 9-10 2018, Universitas Airlangga delegates participated in the 2018 National Accounting and Tax Olympiad (NATO) competition.  
 
NATO is a competition in the field of accounting and taxation held by the Bandung State Polytechnic Accounting Student Association. The competition was held for two days, from 9 to 10 November 2018 at the Tonny Soewandito Pendopo, Bandung State Polytechnic. The purpose of the event is to equip and strengthen competitiveness and improve the competence and quality of intellectuals to be ready to face the era of the Digital Economy.
 
On the first day, the preliminary and semifinal stages were held. The elimination stage consists of two sessions, namely the session on cycle questions and multiple choice questions which are done individually (independently). From that stage, the scores of each member are accumulated and nine teams with the highest scores are taken to advance to the semifinal stage. In the semifinal stage, nine teams were grouped into three batches to work on the types of questions according to their respective batches. The team with the highest score in each batch is entitled to advance to the final stage which consists of a presentation session and quizzes. 
 
On the second day, the final stage was held together with the National Seminar "Inspiring Talk: Business Young Entrepreneur" with speakers Haykal Kamil, Angga Nugraha, and Maulidan Isbar.

Universitas Airlangga delegated a team consisting of Patrick Aloysius Wijaya, Tanaya Devi Kemala Agni, and Fince Layadi to take part in the competition. The team then won 3rd place in the National Accounting and Tax Olympiad. The team's achievements are expected to be an inspiration for other students.
