The young generation in Indonesia has an important role that is inevitable even before the independence of the Republic of Indonesia. The youth movement first started with the Boedi Utomo association which was founded in 1908 and has inspired the birth of other youth movements with the spirit of idealism until the Youth Pledge was born on October 28, 1928. In the critical period before the independence of the Republic of Indonesia, the nation's youth also played a role in urged the elderly to immediately proclaim Indonesia's independence in 1945. The Tritura incident in 1966, 1998, Indonesian youths have always been active in maintaining the unity of the nation with the strength that lies in the struggle for idealism. It is evident in the reform movement driven by youth with the aim of making the Indonesian nation better than before. With the spirit of youth where making changes and creating history is part of youth and considering the accounting profession is an important profession in maintaining a good financial system, it is important for accounting students to unite and jointly increase awareness and quality of Indonesian accountants candidates to be able to face the global challenges of the accounting profession, especially accounting students must begin to understand the professional code of ethics from an early age. Therefore, several representatives of Indonesian accounting students who took part in the Young Indonesian Accountants Pledge had the initiative to create an organization that could accommodate all organizations without merging and without overseeing previously established accounting student organizations. The name agreed upon is the National Congress of Indonesian Accounting Students, an independent organization to represent the voices of Indonesian accounting students, where the goal is to maintain and increase a sense of diversity, a sense of unity, a sense of pride in the profession, a sense of kinship among accounting students in Indonesia and most importantly, country love.

The initiation of the formation of the Congress was then voiced to other associations (Associations can be seen from the logos below) and resulted in a decision that the organization could not be formed if the existence of the young accountant was not known, therefore it was decided that it should create a moment where The existence of young accountants in Indonesia was recognized, and the Indonesian Young Accountants Day was born on October 26, 2018. The date was chosen because it was close to the Youth Pledge Day whose initiation was located at the Auditorium Campus II (Faculty of Medicine) Krida Wacana Christian University, Jalan Arjuna Utara No. . 6, West Jakarta. With the procession of reading the Indonesian Accounting Student Pledge and signing the Young Accountant Plaque by 83 Student Associations who are the founders of the Indonesian Young Accountants Day and representatives from the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education Prof. Dr. Rina Indiastuti as secretary general of the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education.

After the determination of the Indonesian Young Accountant Day was implemented, the Founders of the Young Accountant Day and several participants of the Determination of the Indonesian Young Accountant Day gathered in front of the Auditorium to discuss the continuation of the formation of the National Congress of Indonesian Accounting Students. Due to the very limited time, the formation of the Congress could not be done that day. Therefore, the National Congress of Indonesian Accounting Students is the "will" of the Founders of the Indonesian Young Accountants Day which we must complete this year to commemorate the Indonesian Young Accountants Day.

In order to follow up on the vision of the Accounting Student Pledge Founder on October 26, 2018 as well as commemorate the Indonesian Young Accountants Day, the formation of the National Congress of Indonesian Accounting Students (KNMAI) will be held October 25 - 26 2019.
