Therefore, in his first guest lecture series in FEB UNAIR, Prof. Carsten emphasizes the importance of critical thinking to understand particular phenomena based on specific theories. While he believes no such model exists to explain the uniqueness and complexity of any human behaviour model, Prof. Carsten explained how the model simplifies phenomena with some assumptions. Other than that, generalizations, inaccuracy and bias are other limitations of any theories and models. However, theory and models help students have a framework for complex phenomena, predict outcomes, simplify complex matters, and generate new ideas. So, the theory and model are still beautiful to be understood by students and practitioners.Moving on to the central theme of the guest lecture, Prof. Carsten explained some essential keywords, including culture, change management, leadership and stages of a company. By establishing a strong culture and effective leadership, organizations can navigate the challenges of growth, maturity and decline. Those things should support the company's end goal, survival and sustainability, as long-term success.
