Abstract

This study was intended to determine the effect of the variables of cocoa farmers' attitudes towards saving, subjective norms of cocoa farmers on saving, net income that is ready to be saved, number of cocoa farmer household members, the highest level of education in cocoa farmer households, and bank location on cocoa farmers' interest in saving, as well as which variables have a dominant influence. I also want to know whether there is a difference in saving interest between petards who specialize in growing cocoa and farmers, apart from growing cocoa, they also maintain other plantation crops. Sampling was carried out by means of a non-probability sample with 168 respondents spread over four sub-districts in the Donggala Regency. The analytical model used in this study is Multiple Linear Regression. To prove the hypothesis using statistical tests, namely simultaneous regression test (F test), partial regression test (t test), and two independent sample differences test. Based on the results of the analysis, it shows that the attitude of cocoa farmers towards saving has a very significant influence on the interest of cocoa farmers to save at the bank, with a contribution rate of 33,84 percent. Besides that, it is also found that the variables of cocoa farmers' attitudes towards saving, cocoa farmers' subjective norms towards saving, net income that is ready to be saved, and the highest level of education in cocoa farmer household members together or simultaneously have a very significant influence on demand for savings. cocoa farmers to save in the bank, with a contribution rate of 73,88 percent.
