Description of Internal Business and Paper Training (INTEREST) ​​Activities

Internal Business and Paper Training (INTEREST) ​​is one of the activities of the work program of the Department of Science and the Department of Entrepreneurship in which there are a series of seminars and workshops with the theme Tangible Evidence of Writing Skills. The existence of this activity is intended to improve the ability to write scientific papers and be able to channel ideas and ideas that are active and innovative. This activity was held on March 21-22, 2019 at the Fadjar Notonegoro Hall. The description of these activities is as follows:

  • First day

Prior to the start of the activity, all committee members were asked to gather briefing program. Activity briefing held at approximately 11.00 WIB in the corridor in front of the Fadjar Hall.

The event began with participant registration at around 12.00-13.00 WIB. The entire committee prepared themselves according to their respective duties and the participants gradually began to arrive. The attendance of participants on the first day was quite a lot, even exceeding the expected number because there were several participants who registered on the spot who on that day also participated in this activity. After that, it is estimated that many participants have entered the hall. The event started with the opening ceremony by the MCs, namely Nuri and Kevin by singing the anthem Indonesia Raya and the Airlangga Hymn. Then the event continued with remarks from KOC, followed by remarks from KAHIMA Economic Development and reading of a series of events by the MC.

At around 13.45 WIB, the event continued with the presentation of material by Mr. Miguel as the speaker. He conveyed the motivation to the audience who attended enthusiastically. It can be seen from the enthusiasm of the participants who were present and listened carefully. For about 30 minutes he conveyed his motivation and then continued by the next speaker, namely Mr. Angga Erlando. Mr. Angga's presence was actually a substitute for Mrs. Shochrul, who at that time was unable to attend due to illness. As the second speaker, Pak Angga also conveyed his motivation and shared experiences which certainly inspired the participants. The motivation conveyed by Pak Angga is certainly different from before. Each speaker provided inspirational motivation in their own way to channel enthusiasm to the attendees. After the motivational presentation ended, the next event was a talk show by Mr. Miguel and Mr. Angga.

The talkshow on that day showed the enthusiasm of the participants to take part in the event, as evidenced by several participants asking questions to the speakers. In this session, it is intended that the participants who attend really listen to what the speaker has to say because the question and answer session is able to train students to explore their curiosity more deeply. The event did not stop there, followed by a talk show by Mr. Wisudanto. The contents of what was conveyed were the same, namely about sharing and motivation. Then, it was followed by a speaker from an Airlangga University student, namely Mas Tegar. He conveys tips and sharing also to the participants.  

The event was closed at around 16.10 WIB with the presentation of placards by the KOC of the event to the speakers present. In conclusion, the first day was quite enjoyable because many participants attended and the enthusiasm was seen during the question and answer session. After the event was over, the entire committee held an evaluation in front of the corridor of the Fadjar Hall. The results of the evaluation were not so bad, because all the committee felt they had carried out their duties well.


  • The second day

Before starting the activities on the second day, the entire committee was asked to gather to do some activities briefing  around 07.30 WIB. The series of events on the second day was different from the first day. On the second day, the event started in the morning at 08.30-09.00 WIB for participant registration.

When participants are present, the committee directs them to enter the hall immediately. However, the number of participants on the second day was not as much as on the first day. Only half of the registered participants were present in the Hall.

The event started at 09.00 WIB by singing the song Indonesia Raya and the Airlangga Hymn. Followed by the reading of a series of events by the MC. Around 09.15:XNUMX a.m    The event was followed by a workshop, namely the delivery of material on data processing by Mbak Eka Wahyuni. Mbak Eka is an assistant to one of the lecturers who teaches in Development Economics. With his proficient knowledge in processing data, he provides very useful material to participants and the staff who are present to learn together to process data. Then the event continued with a workshop by Mas Tegar who was in charge of providing material on paper writing.

In about an hour he delivered tips in terms of writing innovative papers. At 11 WIB the entire event was temporarily ended because at that time it coincided with the Friday prayer service and continued at around 00 WIB. Towards the end of the event, there were two speakers who attended the second session of the day, namely Mbak Irma from the 13.30 class of Management major and Mas Kathon from the 2017 class of Management. They both delivered material on business plans. At 2016 WIB followed by an explanation of the SOP of the guidance class curriculum by the chairman of the event, Abednego. At the end of the event finished around 14.30 WIB. The event closed with the presentation of placards by KOC to the speakers.

After the event was over, all the orphanages gathered to conduct an evaluation on the second day and found several problems in the number of participants who attended quite a few and many left the hall before the event was over. The rest, all the orphanages have carried out their duties during the event very well.
