Accounting Championship or commonly called ACCHAMP is an annual competition organized by the Accounting Department Student Association (HMJA) Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Jember. Just like in previous years, ACCHAMP 2019 can be attended by PTN/PTS students throughout Indonesia. This activity is a series of events from the 2019 Jember Accounting Fair (JAFa 2019). The background is by accounting graduates who are basically prepared to become someone who works in the accounting field, which of course is required to have the skills needed by the world of work. ACCHAMP 2019 has the theme "Optimize the Role of Youth Accountant Generation to Conquer Artificial Intelligence Era".

    After going through an online selection that was held on Friday, August 16, 2019, two representatives of the Universitas Airlangga team managed to qualify for the big 14 who were selected to continue the main round to the University of Jember, in Jember. On the first day of 12 September 2019, 14 teams that had qualified for the main round came to register and attend the Technical Meeting which was opened with remarks from the Head of the Accounting Study Program at the University of Jember.

    The first qualifying round started at 09.35 on that day. This qualifying round consists of 2 stages, namely choose the one, and a case study of a consolidated report, to determine the best 8 teams that will qualify for the semifinals. The Universitas Airlangga team managed to reach the 6th and 7th positions in determining the 8 best teams that advanced to the semifinals. The other 6 teams were 3 teams from Perbanas Surabaya, 1 team from Multimedia Nusantara University, 1 team from Widya Mandala Catholic University, and the last one was a team from Lambung Mangkurat University.

The semifinals were held on the second day of the competition. This round consists of 3 stages, namely moving slide, mix and match, and score gambling, where at this last stage 8 teams will be divided into 2 pools to compete for seats in the final round. Based on the draw, the first Universitas Airlangga team with the team name β€œUnair 1” had to compete against teams from Perbanas, WM, and Lambung Mangkurat in pool 1, and the second Universitas Airlangga team with the team name β€œMetanoia” had to compete against teams from Perbanas (2 teams ), and UMN in pool 2. The scores from the semifinal round are accumulated from the 3 stages that have been passed. And Praise Gratitude, the two representative teams from Universitas Airlangga were able to successfully qualify for the Final stage, namely the top 5 which were ranked 2nd and 3. And the other 3 teams were in first place by the UMN team, fourth by the Perbanas team and the last by the team WM.

After the Friday prayer break at around 13.00 the final round will start immediately. In this round there is only 1 stage, namely the relay essay. Where each team is given a topic about Artificial Intelligence: Cloud Accounting in this stage the team that passes must discuss a case that has been provided by the committee, and for the process each team member takes turns discussing the case in powerpoint form with a time per team member of 10 minutes, so the total 30 minutes of work, where the ppt will be presented by each team. After the work is complete, it is time to take the lottery for the presentation queue. The Matanoia team from Unair got second place, and the Unair 1 team from Unair got third.

The announcement of the winners was announced the next day after the National Seminar which was also a series of JAFa 2019 events ended. Praise be to God Almighty, the two representative teams of Universitas Airlangga won the championship. 1st place was won by the Unair 1 team consisting of Patrick Aloysius Wijaya (AKS1 2016), Tanaya Devi Kemala (AKS1 2016), Fince Layadi (AKS1 2016). The 2nd place was won by the UMN Jakarta team, and the 3rd place was won by the Metanoia team representing Universitas Airlangga consisting of Hari Suciati (AKS1 2016), Thalia Novita Sari (AKS1 2016), Nofika Diana Wati (AKS1 2016).

The competition was a valuable experience and a lot of lessons were learned by the students of the Universitas Airlangga team. Hopefully the achievements that have been achieved can be an encouragement for Airlangga University students to continue to give their best and fight better in the next opportunity.
