FEB UNAIR AND UNAIR PPKS Task Force, CARE FOR THE PREVENTION AND HANDLING OF SEXUAL VIOLENCE

(FEB NEWS) Acts of sexual violence can happen to anyone, by anyone, and anywhere, even in the educational environment, including on campus, sometimes it is also prone to acts of sexual harassment and violence.

For this reason, the Faculty of Economics and Business, Airlangga University cares about the importance of raising awareness about preventing sexual violence from an early age, both among students, lecturers, education staff and others on campus. This is because prevention will certainly be much better than handling.

Starting from the Regulation of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Permendikbudristek) Number 30 of 2021 concerning the Prevention and Handling of Sexual Violence in Higher Education Environment, which requires the existence of a Task Force for the Prevention and Handling of Sexual Violence (Satgas PPKS) in each Higher Education, the University Airlangga has also formed UNAIR PPKS Task Force.

For this reason, Universitas Airlangga has socialized the PPKS SATGAS in various work units within Airlangga University and on Tuesday, 7 March 2023 the socialization was carried out, in the Fadjar Notonagoro Hall, 2nd Floor, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga.

Dr. Faizal Kurniawan, SH., MH., LL.M. from the PPKS UNAIR SATGAS stated that in FEB UNAIR, thank God there is Zero Sexual Violence. Even though there has been Permendikbudristek Number 30 of 2021, it is felt that it is not enough to make the Airlangga University Environment zero for the occurrence of cases that lead to sexual harassment and violence. Thus, the next follow-up from the Permendikbudristek is the formation of task forces in each faculty.

Deputy Dean I of FEB UNAIR, Dr. Wisnu Wibowo welcomed the embryo of forming PPKS Task Force in faculties, because like an Emergency Unit (ER) in a hospital, PPKS Task Force in each faculty will become satellites that will strengthen UNAIR PPKS SATGAS, as well as UNAIR Help Center which has been has also done a lot.

Further conveyed in the socialization, the importance of interlocutors, especially interlocutors who are the same age in efforts to prevent and deal with sexual violence. In this socialization, Firli Imansa (from FISIP UNAIR) and Dewi Septiniya (Faculty of Nursing UNAIR) who were PPKS SATGAS TEAM from students were also present.

Universitas Airlangga and FEB UNAIR are committed not to tolerate sexual violence in any form, whether it is considered "light" or "severe".

This outreach activity is carried out for the sake of creating a campus environment that is safe from sexual violence, can increase the knowledge and awareness of the civitas academica through education about sexual violence as a prevention effort, handling in favor of victims, growing student morale and the campus environment, which is excellence with morality. Furthermore, it is hoped that students as well as the entire academic community within Ailangga University can continue to uphold these principles in social life.
