BEM FEB DISASTER RESPONSE

The Disaster Response Program is an initiative of the Community Service Department of the Student Executive Board (BEM FEB) Universitas Airlangga (2026) as a response to emergencies caused by natural disasters. This program is designed to provide concrete action through the collection and distribution of humanitarian aid, involving the active participation of students as part of a caring community.

In its implementation, Disaster Response has five main stages: the Disaster Awareness Campaign, Needs Mapping, Fundraising, Aid Distribution, and Evaluation and Reporting. Each stage is structured to ensure that the aid provided is targeted, sustainable, and has a significant impact on affected communities. Fundraising is carried out not only through direct donations but also through thrift sales, a creative effort involving the participation of students and the wider community.

This initiative is also aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3 (Healthy and Well-Being Lives) related to the provision of health services for victims, SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) in increasing community resilience to disasters, and SDG 13 (Addressing Climate Change) which focuses on responding to the increasing risk of disasters due to climate change

Through collaboration between students, partners, and the community, this program is expected to be a tangible contribution in providing a rapid, targeted, and sustainable disaster response.
