Indonesia Economics Events (ECCENTS) is an event that aims
to accommodate and provide a platform for students to think critically,
especially about the economy, discuss, and put forward solutions and
policy suggestions for current economic issues in order to encourage the nation's progress
in terms of economics, especially carrying out productive activities by students.
In 2018, ECCENTS raised the theme "Surfing The Waves of Public
Goods Development to Alleviate Inequality". ECCENTS has 5 series of
events held in different places and times, namely Competition,
NEC (Night Economic Case), National Seminar, Gala Dinner, and Field Trip.
The competition consists of three stages. The first stage is “Abstract
Elimination”, the second stage is “Research Competition”, and the third stage is
“Meet the Judicators”. Teams that pass the second stage will be invited as
delegates and will participate in the Indonesia Economics Events (11th
ECCENTS) series of events. The third stage of the competition was held on October 26,
2018, at the Mindrowo Hall, Faculty of Economics and Business,
Universitas Airlangga .




Night Economic Case (NEC) is a discussion panel attended
by practitioners and academics as speakers which was opened with
a presentation of material followed by a discussion session. NEC was held on
October 26, 2018 at the Fadjar Hall, Faculty of Economics and Business,
Universitas Airlangga with the theme "Trade Wars to Local Business: Opportunities
or Threat?". In this activity, we invited 5 speakers,
including Dedy Irianto (Head of the Economic Assessment and
Surveillance Function of Bank Indonesia), M. Arif Widodo (Head of the Program and
Budget Sub-Division of the East Java Department of Industry and Trade), Firdaus Aditya Rizqi (Head of the Sub-
Supervision of Bank KR4 East Java), Angga Erlando (Lecturer of the Faculty of Economics and Business,
Airlangga University).
The National Seminar was held on October 27, 2018
at the Fadjar Hall, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga
with the theme "The Magnificent Side of Transportation Waves Development".
In this activity, we invited 5 speakers, including Wahid Wahyudi (Assistant for Economics and Development of East Java Province), Agus Taufik M. (Chairman of the Indonesian Community Presidium), Hot Rudolf Marihot (President Director of PT. BJTI PORT), Joko Supriyanto (Head of Traffic Division of the Surabaya Transportation Agency), Hitapriya Suprayitno (Lecturer of Civil Engineering ITS). With 5 speakers, we divided it into 2 national dialogue sessions guided by a moderator named Brigita Manohara.
The Gala Dinner was held on October 27, 2018, at the Fadjar Hall, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga. Several lecturers and delegates were invited to the Gala Dinner. We also announced the winners of the ECCENTS competition.
The final ECCENTS event was a field trip. The trip
took place on October 28, 2018,
visiting various locations in Surabaya, including the Heroes Monument, the
Surabaya Museum, and Surabaya Northquay. The purpose of this activity was to foster camaraderie
with the delegates and introduce them to the city of Surabaya.
ECCENTS itself is a platform for students to think critically. Therefore
, it is hoped that ECCENTS will continue to inspire many students
to think critically and participate in proposing solutions to
problems, particularly in the economy, so that they can become agents
of change for the Indonesian nation.
