The Essay Competition – National Environmental and Social Talk held by the Forestry Management Study Program of the Bogor Agricultural University took place in a series of events on October 12-14, 2018, at the IPB Campus Area. As the only delegate departing from Universitas Airlangga, I was selected and qualified as one of the top 10 finalists to present an Essay with the theme of Forestry. It is not very relevant for Accounting students, but that does not mean you should be afraid to try something different. Among the entire selected team, I was the only one who departed individually, while the other participating teams were per team consisting of 2-3 participants.

The overall participants were very varied, from 10 finalist teams, all from different universities/institutes, from the ends of Medan - Riau - Yogyakarta - Bandung - East Java - Palangkaraya, Bogor each representing. The agenda that I found while there was a series that was not much different from the competitions in general. After arriving at the location, immediately went to the accommodation at Wisma Amarilis IPB Campus, until the evening began the Technical Meeting to prepare the presentation the next day, I got the 7th presentation sequence number in front of the jury, committee and participants. The presentation was carried out openly in the Meeting Room that had been provided.

After the presentation, the other participants and I enjoyed lunch and took a series of campus tours at several locations within the Faculty of Forestry and the Faculty of Animal Husbandry. The next day was the final day of the series of events, which concluded with a seminar by the speakers and the announcement of the Essay Competition Winners. Unfortunately, I personally did not have the opportunity to take home a trophy from this event. But I am confident that I have tried and given my best for my alma mater, Airlangga University. Going forward, I will work even harder to make Universitas Airlanggaproud.
