The Welcome Visit is a program of the External Relations Department of the Student Executive Board of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga. It provides a platform for students to learn more about the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga. Participants are divided into two groups: high school students and students from other universities and within Universitas Airlangga . These different categories of participants also lead to different objectives for the visit.
When high school students participated in the welcome visit, the goal was to learn more about the lectures at the Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Airlangga. The main event was a presentation by a senior lecturer at the Faculty. During the presentation, students were briefed on the various study programs available at the Universitas Airlangga. They were also provided with various pathways and tips for becoming a student at the Universitas Airlangga.
A question and answer session was also held. The first session focused on the presenters. The questions typically revolved around academics at the Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Airlangga. The second session focused on members of the Student Executive Board (BEM) of the Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Airlangga. The questions focused on lighthearted questions about what it's like to be a student. Many students were enthusiastic about the Q&A session, as it allowed them to delve deeper into academics and lecture activities at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga.
Next was a welcome visit with university students. The students came not only from outside Universitas Airlangga but also from other Universitas Airlangga. For example, students from the Faculty of Public Health Universitas Airlangga, students from the Faculty of Economics and Business at Satya Wacana Christian University, students from the Faculty of Economics at Tridinanti University, Palembang, and others. The purpose of this welcome visit was more focused on a comparative study of the Student Executive Board of Economics and Business Universitas Airlangga.
The purpose of the welcome visit with high school participants is different, so the main event is also different. The main event of the welcome visit with student participants is a Focus Group Discussion (FGD). However, before entering the Focus Group Discussion (FGD), a presentation of the work programs of each university is held. During the Focus Group Discussion (FGD), each department from both universities gathers. This meeting usually begins with a sharing session on the work programs of each department at both universities. This is then followed by a question and answer session regarding the work programs and general activities at the Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Airlangga . Here, both universities can learn from each other and increase their knowledge on how to run a good work program.
