Islamic Economic Expert Talk is a work program of the Scientific Division of the Islamic Economics Master of Science Student Association (HIMA MSEI) Universitas Airlangga . Islamic Economic Expert Talk is an event or forum that usually features speakers who are experts in the field of Islamic economics. This event aims to discuss various topics related to Islamic economics, such as Islamic finance, halal investment, Islamic banking, and other aspects of economics that are in accordance with sharia principles. Experts in this field will share their knowledge, experience, and insights to help participants understand and apply Islamic economic concepts in their daily lives or in their professional contexts.
Islamic Economic Expert Talk 2024 was held at the Mindrowo Hall, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga on August 5, 2024 with the concept of a seminar and discussion on "Integrating ESG Principles in Islamic Banking: A Pathway to Sustainable Finance" by presenting Professor Dr. Mohammad Kabir Hassan who is one of the expertised of Finance and Hibernia Professor of Economics and Finance University of New Orleans.
The Islamic Economic Expert Talk is aimed at all students currently enrolled in the Master of Science in Islamic Economics program at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga , as well as the general public interested in deepening their knowledge of Islamic economics. This activity aligns with SDGs points 4 and 8, which emphasize the importance of quality education, decent work, and inclusive economic growth. Through the delivery of useful knowledge, it is hoped that participants will improve their chances of obtaining decent employment in the future.
