FRESH (Friendship in Economic of Sharia) is an orientation program for new Islamic Economics students designed to introduce the major and the lecture system. This activity is not just an introduction, but also aims to instill basic values that will be implemented comprehensively during the implementation of FRESH 2025.
With a structured theme and event concept, FRESH 2025 is expected to be a means of improving the quality and readiness of new students in facing the academic world, especially in the Islamic Economics environment Universitas Airlangga . The series of FRESH 2025 activities will be held directly (offline) for four weeks, starting on August 8, 2025 and continuing on August 23, 30, 2025 and September 6, 2025, and will close on September 13, 2025. The introduction to the Islamic Economics major will be carried out through the delivery of materials during the orientation period, with a two-way interactive method so that new students can understand more deeply. Each weekly agenda is designed to support the internalization of the values promoted by FRESH 2025. This year, the main theme is “Encourage Intellectual Growth with FRESH,” which encourages intellectual growth through mutual support and creates a supportive environment for critical thinking in the world of lectures. The activity begins with the official welcoming of new students on August 8, 2024.
Furthermore, Day 1 on August 23, 2025 will contain a seminar on the projections and strategic role of Islamic Economics UNAIR, complemented by a group discussion session (FGD). Day 2, which falls on August 30, 2025, will take place in a relaxed atmosphere in the form of outbound on campus, with fun games containing Islamic Economic values and aimed at building class cohesion. On Day 3 on September 6, 2025, new students will present journal presentations that have been prepared with their respective groups as a form of creative thinking and teamwork practice. This activity will be closed with a Closing Party on September 13, 2025 as a symbol of the release of new students to begin their academic journey with the experience of FRESH 2025.
The entire series of FRESH 2025 events are arranged in line with the objectives of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially the point about Quality Education. This program is also based on the development of the 4C dimensions—Creativity, Critical Thinking, Collaboration, and Communication—to form the foundation of new students' readiness to face academic and organizational dynamics in the future. FRESH 2025 will be held at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga . New students will be charged a participation fee for consumption during the activity, as a form of support for the smooth running and sustainability of all planned events.
