Sharia Economics Club 2018

Sharia Economic Club-

Fun Islamic Economics Study Group

One of the student organizations in the Science division is the Sharia Economics Club, often referred to as SEC. This program aims to create high-achieving and competitive AcSESors in academics, particularly to prepare them to become champions in Islamic economics olympiads at the regional, national, and international levels. SEC is an Islamic economics study group consisting of AcSES members who are students majoring in accounting, development economics, management, and Islamic economics. This work program can be a means for Islamic economics students to transfer their knowledge so that it becomes knowledge that is beneficial to themselves and others.

The Sharia Economics Club was officially or formally held in preparation for the 2018 Regional Scientific Meeting for 12 times (from December 30, 2017 to January 31, 2018). On February 24-27, 2018 and continued on April 11, 12, and 14, 2018, in preparation for the 2018 GSENT Olympiad. Meanwhile, other SECs were held informally or the competing teams conducted personal training.

Although the SEC isn't structured, many AcSESors form their own study groups to exchange ideas and discuss Islamic economics. The SEC mentors are AcSES members themselves, who possess slightly more knowledge than their peers. However, they can also discuss their own issues through sharing and transferring knowledge.

The success of SEC in 2018 was the presence of AcSES members who succeeded in winning championships in several prestigious Islamic economic Olympiad competitions in Indonesia, namely SESO, SEVEN SHELTER, National Islamic Economic Olympiad UIN Walisongo Semarang

Reflecting on the 2018 SEC, it is hoped that this work program will develop and become more well-conceived. This is because the SEC is the most important tool for AcSESor to strengthen and expand their theoretical knowledge of Islamic economics.
