Empowering the Community While Running "PASSION"

Running a business is not only for profit but also for social action such as empowering the community as Selia Dwi Ratna Rahmawati, a 2015 Airlangga University Management student, was recently appointed as a mentor at the School of Business ormawa WEBS. At first, he noticed his mother's customers who asked for a package of clothes and make-up services. From there! Ah, he became interested and added to his make-up skills which had become his hobby. Initially, she made up the prospective graduates and received positive feedback. Then she started her business career in 2015. "Make up is art, beauty is spirit." The slogan has
become a principle in running her business as a free lancer make up artist. She has also realized her dream, which is to make up a Caucasian, namely an exchange student at UNAIR from Germany. The turnover of this make-up service is erratic and tends to be seasonal such as the Kartini season, graduation, wedding, and for photo shoots. If kartinian time can generate a turnover of up to 4 million in a day. To run a make up service, the disadvantage is less visible because the make up equipment is not a disposable item and can be used for many times. In addition to providing make-up services, he also rents out and sells kebayas and traditional clothes. She designs a kebaya with a trending design herself and sews it to a tailor in her area, namely Tuban. The turnover of this kebaya and traditional clothes rental reaches 5 million/month.

"Being a professional MUA, known by all circles, and providing new innovations in kebaya designs" is his hope in the future. He also has the principle, "Business will be easy if it is according to passion even though sometimes it is a loss, it doesn't feel like it."
In marketing his own products, he uses Instagram media with the @byseliadwiratna account for make-up services and @kebayaa.id for kebaya rental. And also he opened a boutique in the Tuban area.
