Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the leadership style consisting of the style of consideration and initiating structure, either jointly or partially, on the effectiveness of the manager's leadership style at KUD Mandiri Inti, KUD Mandiri, and KUD Mandiri Inti and KUD Mandiri in DIY. In addition, it is also to determine whether there are differences in the combination of leadership styles and differences in the degree of effectiveness of leadership styles, between managers at KUD Mandiri Inti and managers at KUD Mandiri in DIY. The population of this research is the employees of KUD Mandiri Inti and KUD Mandiri who are the direct subordinates of the KUD manager. Samples were taken as many as 142 people from 9 KUD Mandiri Inti and 9 KUD Mandiri, using purposive cluster random sampling technique. Primary data collection was carried out using a questionnaire which was directly distributed to respondents. The hypotheses of this research are: (1) the leadership style of consideration and initiating structure either jointly or partially has a significant influence on the effectiveness of the manager's leadership style at KUD Mandiri Inti, KUD Mandiri, and KUD Mandiri Inti and KUD Mandiri in DIY; (2) the consideration leadership style has a dominant influence on the effectiveness of the manager's leadership style, both at KUD Mandiri Inti, KUD Mandiri, as well as KUD Mandiri Inti and KUD Mandiri; (3) there is a significant difference in the combination of leadership styles between managers at KUD Mandiri Inti and managers at KUD Mandiri; (4) there is a significant difference in the degree of leadership style effectiveness between managers at KUD Mandiri Inti and managers at KUD Mandiri. The analysis technique used is multiple linear regression analysis and chi quadrad with a contingency table. Multiple linear regression was used to test hypotheses 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6, while the chi quadrad was used to test hypotheses 7 and 8. The results showed: (1) The consideration leadership style and initiating structure, either jointly or partially, had a significant influence on the effectiveness of the manager's leadership style at KUD Mandiri Inti, KUD Mandiri, as well as KUD Mandiri Inti and KUD Mandiri in DIY; (2) The contribution of the influence of the two leadership style variables on the effectiveness of the manager's leadership style, at KUD Mandiri Inti was 59,94%, while at KUD Mandiri, the contribution was 61,45%, and KUD Mandiri Inti and KUD Mandiri were 60,651. (3) In KUD Mandiri Inti, the initiating structure leadership style with r² = 2 has a dominant influence on the effectiveness of the manager's leadership style.
