Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of family firms and corporate governance on environmental strengths and environmental concerns in the implementation of corporate social responsibility. This study uses ROA, leverage, and Tobins q as control variables. The sample in this study are manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in the period 2012 to 2016 according to predetermined criteria. This research method is a purposive sampling technique that uses multiple regression analysis and logistic regression. This study concludes that family companies are more concerned with the implementation of environmental strength and environmental conerns than non-family companies, because family companies maintain the family name or reputation of the company. The function of corporate governance is to control and monitor the company for the implementation of corporate social responsibility.
