Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effect of career competencies on perceived employability, work engagement, and job satisfaction, as well as the role of perceived employability and work engagement as mediators in the effect of career competencies on job satisfaction. This research was conducted at the Husada Utama Hospital Surabaya on 160 nurses with permanent status. A quantitative approach was used in this study, with a survey as a method for collecting questionnaire data. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) – AMOS is used as an analytical technique, to test research hypotheses. The results of the study indicate that career competencies have a direct influence on job satisfaction, and there is a mediating role of perceived employability and work engagement variables in this influence. Based on the results of these studies, this study further offers theoretical and practical implications.
