Islamic Economics Student Summit

The Islamic Economics Student Summit (IESS) is an annual event held by the Islamic Economics Student Association or several linear  existing in Indonesia. This IESS was initiated by 4 state universities in Indonesia, namely Airlangga University, University of Indonesia, Padjajaran University, and Diponegoro University. This event also invites the entire Islamic Economics Student Association or linear throughout Indonesia to participate in contributing their thoughts to the development of the Islamic economy, especially in Indonesia. This event has a purpose, namely as a place for discussion of Islamic economics and discussions of national-level organizations, the outputs of which will be in the form of: press release on the topic of the study that will be recommended to the relevant Stakeholders from the Government, Private and parties related to the results of the discussion.

This time IESS refers to the huge potential of the creative economy to become one of the great strengths of the Indonesian economy because Indonesia has quite a lot of Human Resources, IESS 2018 raises the grand theme "Industrial Revolution 4.0 based on Islamic Perspectives" which is divided into several sub-themes Halal Tourism, Sharia StartUp , Sharia SMEs, and Sharia Marketing. In this event, a delegation from UNAIR participated as a presenter by presenting a paper with the title “W – UF System: Optimizing vacant land in urban areas, which is about blockchain waqf in supporting filling vacant land in urban areas such as skyscraper buildings using Urban Farming, namely agriculture and plantations in urban areas. to address food security.

This IESS also discusses how we move as students of Islamic economics to support the development and preach the Islamic economy in Indonesia. Because the development of the Islamic economy is very rapid and we as students must also support it in order to achieve the goal, namely: fail common welfare. It is hoped that in the future the role of students in supporting the development of the Islamic economy will be even greater.
