Scientific Writing Training (PENA KTI) is one of the work programs of the Scientific Division of the Islamic Economics Student Association, Faculty of Economics and Business, Airlangga University. This work program is a facility intended for Islamic Economics residents who want to learn, deepen and make achievements in the field of scientific writing. As the name suggests, this program focuses on deepening knowledge in the fields of reasoning and writing. Pena KTI itself is a routine program that is held once a week and is filled by speakers who are experts in writing.

The KTI Pena in 2018 was divided into two classes in the training, namely the beginner and Intermediate. Class beginner is a class intended for students who are just starting to learn to write scientific papers. Students taking classes beginner consists of students who do not know scientific writing at all, so with this training it is expected that Islamic economics students are able to carve their ideas in written form under the guidance of experienced tutors. While class Intermediate is a class intended for students who have previously been in the world of scientific writing and have won writing competitions at the national level, so that in this class the training focuses more on developing and deepening higher abilities in the field of scientific writing. Students taking classes Intermediate In the long term, it is hoped that he will be able to become a tutor who monitors students taking classes beginner.

The KTI Pen is carried out regularly once a week with a curriculum and material that every week demands that there be progress from participants. The implementation of Pena KTI training is routinely carried out on floors 1,5 or 2,5, the Discussion Room and the Department of Sharia Economics. For class beginner routinely held once a week with two sessions, namely Tuesday, 09:00-11:00 (Session 1) and 13:00-15:00 (Session 2). For class Intermediate held every Thursday from 18:00 to 20:00 under direct supervision by Mr. Raditya Sukmana (Chairman of the Department of Sharia Economics). KTI Pen Training is a collaboration of all stakeholders Islamic economics at Airlangga University, where Pena KTI participants are Islamic economics students from all generations and the tutors are Islamic economics students, alumni and lecturers of Islamic economics.

output What is expected from the Pena KTI training is that students take classes beginner able to write scientific papers and at least have won the national level scientific writing competition once. This of course has been agreed upon and is the mission of every Pena KTI participant. To instill a strong commitment and desire, each participant at the beginning of the coaching has been given an explanation about the forecase KTI Pena training which requires participants to be active in writing. In addition, participants who are serious about deepening their knowledge through this training are required to sign a Statement of Commitment that has been provided by the Scientific Division. As for achieving these targets, of course there are strategies that are taken. The Scientific Division divided the participants into several groups consisting of three students, which then the team would become businesses in participating in various scientific writing competitions. Meanwhile, to guide and supervise the team, the Scientific Division has also divided tutors into teams. So, one tutor supervises and guides two to three teams. Furthermore, after the formation of a team, the Scientific Division also made a list of scientific writing competitions that were recommended and used as project together for Pena KTI participants.

After Pena KTI participants are able to express their ideas in written form and are able to make achievements in various competitions, the Scientific Division hopes that there will be a transfer of knowledge from participants who have attended the training to other students who have not attended the training. In addition, in 2018, the target of the Scientific Division is to be able to collect at least 50 written works of Islamic economics students who Alhamdulillah in April 2018 yesterday the target has been achieved.
