UNAIR National Accounting Competition 2018
The rapid development of technology today brings many changes in various aspects, one of which is the accounting profession. Accountants who used to be synonymous with analyzing financial data must now have comprehensive abilities, not only technical skills but also must have special competencies such as Advisory, managersand forecasting to face the industrial revolution 4.0. As stated by Ernest&Young (EY) Indonesia Partner, Isnaeni Achdiat, "in the digital era, accountants nowadays should pay attention big data, not only financial data but non-financial data, for example data from external sources, including social media" in the event Aspiring Professional Accountants Festival (APAFest) 2018 organized by the Indonesian Institute of Accountants (IAI) on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) on Thursday 19 April 2018.
In response to this, the 2018 Unair National Accounting Competition comes with the theme "Comprehensive Accounting Skills Toward the 4th industrial revolution" This event is expected to provide insight for prospective accountants and practitioners that the advantage of an accountant is not only to prepare financial statements well, but also to be able to master comprehensive data in order to help accountants to innovate, and provide ideas to improve company efficiency and effectiveness. Mastery of knowledge governance and risk management participate in maintaining the innovations created by accountants in accordance with social and moral values ββin society.
In addition, the event which will take place on 17-20 September 2018 can be a forum for accounting students and practitioners which is packaged in a series of events aimed at all accounting students in Indonesia as well as national seminars that are open to the public. UNAC 2018 is divided into 4 sub-events: Competition, Seminar, Company Trip, and Gala Dinner
The main round of the 2018 UNAC competition will be participated by 30 selected teams consisting of accounting students from all over Indonesia through the preliminary round. On the first day, done technical meetings preliminary round for contestants.
On the second day, the preliminary round of the accounting olympiad began. 30 teams from various universities seemed serious about working on the questions to compete for positions in the semifinals. Not long after the preliminary round took place, the participants who qualified for the semifinals were announced. The competition is getting tougher, and the participants seem to be enjoying this round. In this round, each participant not only needs knowledge in accounting, but also dexterity. Meanwhile, teams that have not had the opportunity to qualify for the semifinals take part in a mini seminar and interview training
The 2018 UNAC seminar which is part of the UNAC sub-event presents competent speakers in their fields, including: Dr. Andry Irwanto, SE., MBA., Ak., CMA., CA (Lecturer of FEB UNAIR); Stevanus Alexander Sianturi, SE Ak., MForAcc, CPA, CFE, CA (EY Indonesia); Dikdik Sidik Pamungkas, SE. MM., Ak., CA (PT. METALART ASTRA INDONESIA); and Triyoga Laksito (OJK). This seminar was held on 19 August 2018 in Kahuripan Hall, Campus C, UNAIR. Seminar participants also get the CA Scholarship Exam facility at no additional cost.
Not only competing, on the last day of UNAC 2018 the participants who had not had the opportunity to qualify for the final round had the opportunity to visit PT. Amerta Indah Otsuka (Pocari Sweat) in Pasuruan, East Java to see firsthand how the production process of Pocari Sweat became one of the sub-events, namely Company Trip.
As the highlight of the event, the Gala Dinner was held on September 20, 2018 as well as the closing of UNAC 2018. The event with the theme light takes place in the Trillium Ballroom this becomes award night accounting competition winner.
