Accounting Knowing Better 2018

Accounting Knowing Better is a work program from the Airlangga University Accounting Student Association in the form of a seminar whose purpose is to introduce new students to knowing more about the accounting major.

Participant registration opens at 08.30. The enthusiasm of the participants consisting of new students to attend the AKB event was very visible, they seemed to be queuing in groups in front of the Fadjar Hall to register and take snacks.

After registration, the event started with the presentation of material by our lecturer, Mrs. Niluh Putu Dian Rosalina Handayani Narsa, or better known as Mrs. Oca. On this occasion, Mrs. Oca provided information about the academic facilities available at Airlangga University Accounting and explained what the field of accounting is universally. The provision of interesting material accompanied by a little joke from Mrs. Oca made the participants unable to look away from the stage of the Fadjar Hall.

After Bu Oca finished giving the material, it was Pak Anak Agung Gede Taman's turn, or commonly called Pak Agung, who showed his ability to fill in the material. On this occasion, Mr. Agung explained about the job prospects of accountants in a Public Accounting Firm and explained the important role of accountants in overcoming every problem that exists in the company. This time, the participants were calmer and tended to be serious in giving the material because he was indeed a Senior Manager in Ernst & Young's Assurance Services, from his position alone it was clear that he was very senior. His demeanor which really shows his experience and professionalism made all participants, including the committee, more calm in paying attention to what he said.

After Pak Agung finished delivering the material, it was Pak Firdaus' turn to show off in front of the stage to deliver the final material at AKB 2018. Pak Firdaus Aditya Rizqi, commonly called Pak Firdaus, is a Banking Supervisor from the Financial Services Authority (OJK) who is still relatively young, so that in the the nature of the material can be more loose than the previous two speakers. On this occasion, he provided information on the job prospects of accountants in government, explained the important role of accountants in terms of government, and provided information on economic predictions in the future which would later involve the role of an accountant. The participants were also carried away by the atmosphere brought by him, so there were often moments where the entire Fadjar Hall, including the committee inside, laughed because of the jokes made by him.

After the three speakers finished giving the material, a question session was opened for participants for the three speakers at once. The enthusiasm of the participants was high so that the Moderator and MC who controlled the question session seemed confused in choosing who to ask first. Everyone who asked questions in this session received souvenirs from the committee, and it was not uncommon for speakers to give souvenirs that they had prepared themselves beforehand.

After the question session was over, the moderator concluded what the three speakers had said. The 2018 AKB series of events closed with the giving of placards to the three speakers as a token of gratitude for the committee for their willingness to take the time to attend and fill the 2018 AKB event. Participants seemed happy because the 7 thousand money they paid at the beginning was very useful for their presence. at AKB 2018 which is supported by great speakers who are able to add insight and motivate them to navigate their new life on campus, in the S-1 Accounting study program, Universitas Airlangga.
